HaikeLite XHP70 Thrower Prototype Sneak Preview

Thanks for clarifying. I was editing my comment when you replied. Do you have runtime duration for the various modes at this time?

You should really put turbo in the modes with switch 2. I don’t see why you don’t. Having turbo memorized would be a great option.

+1

1. Double-click turbo is easy to access in any mode or off.

2. We have tested this turbo-momery UI already.
When we put turbo in modes with switch 2 and memorize turbo mode, It will be confused when people double-click in memorized turbo and find the brightness has no change.
Will be like this:
Single click-Turbo brightness-Double click—still Turbo brightness—Single click to previous memoried mode—Still turbo brightness

It means when you are in memorized turbo, you click four times , the brightness has no change. Isn’t it annoying?

Hello after a long time.

It would be nice to have a version with XHP35 HI emitter and SMO ref . Any chance of that option?

FM

Interesting... I thought about this same exact problem in my firmware. I have a double-click go to turbo (same as this), then if in turbo, a double-click will go to an intense strobe, ~18 Hz. It seem natural - increasing mode intensity with each double-click. Once in strobe, double-clicks don't work anymore.

Price is settled…

People who has interest can send me PM.

Tom-E will get the review sample around 10th Oct.

I'm excited about this one! It has the size to do the XHP70 some justice. Advantages over the popular XHP70 throwers, being the ThorFire S70 and Convoy L6:

  • bigger reflector diameter = more throw. 88mm head diameter compared to 74/75 mm. The important metric: inner diameter of the reflector is 72 mm (62 mm for the S70, L6 - not sure, not published in specs or reviews I could find)
  • more amps on turbo - another big factor in output and throw
  • better power plant - four 18650's vs. two 26650
  • better dual switch setup. I've always believed 2 e-switch's, or a 2 stage e-switch is the best way to go

The ingredients are top tier, but we'll see how it cooks up.

I can see some obvious issues:

  • a 4 battery tube is wide and short, so the handling and balance will be important to judge. It's one of my main concerns from the photos.
  • style and look - I really like the L2 and L6 style, but there are trade-offs with thermal management and functionality, but I do like the knurling on the top of the bezel, which sets it apart from the S70 and L6

One light that it compare with at the same level is the AceBeam K60, having the same head diameter and battery configuration. But the K60 is lighter and somewhat longer.

Looking forward to your review Tom, the specs are very promising.

This. I realize the XHP70 is capable of more lumens but if this is intended to be a thrower then I would think throw would take precedence over lumen output?

Great Tom is doing the review, awesome!

I know double clicking for turbo is quick but for those of us that like to keep highest mode at turn on can find this annoying. A single click is still easier than double clicking. I use most of my lights including this new haikelite on turbo only, and if I did need to use a lower mode, I’d just change modes.

So with the ui now, after double clicking to get to turbo, if I double click again, nothing will change right? So it’s the same as having turbo memorized, if on turbo, double clicking will just confirm that the user is on turbo.

Same thought here. Haikelite mentioned it’s actually comfortable to hold. Wouldn’t a handle be awesome both in terms of ergonomics as well as esthetics?

:+1: thanks for sharing your thought.

OP updated

turbo memorized, single click on available.

Double click turbo available too

Why not make it public as stated in #100?

glad to see that turbo can be memorized! do we have a final turbo output? i honestly think 5500 lumens is a bit on the lower side. since you said this light has great thermal properties, i think the 7000 lumens is the better choice. the user will just turn it down to a lower mode once it gets too hot.
or doesnt the light have thermal step down? then that should take care of the issue.
are these lights ready for taking orders?

95usd for XHP70 N4 CW
99usd for XHP70 N2 3A 5000K

Nice! I’ll await the first review but I’ll probably end up ordering one.
