Rofis TR20 Review

Yea they have a massive range but i have never come across there lights before. When did you buy your models?

Some of the first lights i bought, sure it was sometime early in 2012.

Cool thanks! I was reading that they use to make lights and then stopped or something or they haven’t had a model for a while.

Yeah they remind me of Xeno, they have the capability to make some quality lights but we don’t hear much about them, maybe their market is mostly domestic.

Today i have been schooled in flashlights! I just checked out Xeno some models are fairly similiar to Crelant makes me wonder.

Sounds like a great ui. But most importantly, can turbo be memorized? So that it can turn on with a single click from off.

Good review! I like this appearance.

Yea turbo can be memorised

Great! Now if we can generate enough interest, we can get a group buy going. I feel $79 is too expensive for a light like this. If it had a xhp35 or 70, then it’s worth it.

Good review and I have a hankering for a light that has that head swivel feature. It all falls flat for me with the 500 lm high though. As a work light I need something that can shine brighter than that for the job I do and if turbo keeps cutting out on me to drop to 500lm then it becomes a bit pointless. Why can’t they make a light that chugs away nicely at say 800 for extended periods of time? For some of us they are not toys but tools.

Your in luck I think it has no stepdown as such I didn’t notice at least. But there is no way you leave it high for that long. I had it on turbo for 5 mins and to hot to touch. It doesn’t have the overall mass. The run time leads me to believe it doesn’t stepdown because you get an hour from a 3400mah battery.

I know that when you start talking big lumens the heat is going to be an issue hence me saying a high of 800 would be nice. It shouldn’t be that hard to get a light to stay physically usable at the 700 to 800 range and that for me is a good light level.

Have you thought about a headlamp?

Added a video then banish this thread its been here for to long! My name clogs the home page list lol

On another thanks do doing some ceiling bounce test tint make a huge difference.

thx for review.

I wish they made flashlights with the tripod mount more towards the middle of the body so you can use the little tripods without it tipping over.

^I think with this one you can get the angle you need, as the head rotates.

@OP, thanks for the review, looks very similar to my Klarus AR10, but better in some ways. I like that its abit shorter, has two buttons, shortcuts to both moonlight & turbo

About the magnet, is it as strong as the olights? I have a few olights and also Klarus AR10, all of which have tail magnets. I’ve noticed that the Klarus magnet is abit weaker, and it often won’t stick on some “weaker” vertical surfaces. What about this one, does it stick just about everywhere it should?

Hey mate it wouldn’t stick on the shed wall but i think because that is thin the wall and the light is just to heavy? Sticks side ways on the fridge and side ways further up on a stronger part of the shed. The magnet is huge.

Looks like this one goes on my bucket list.

The aimable head combined with the magnetic base is the clincher for me, a magnetic base does no good if you can’t point the light where you want it to shine once it’s stuck. Of course the high output and design/build qualities come into play- no point in having crappy lights here anymore :sunglasses: I’d guess the magnet could be doubled-up or replaced with a stronger one. The USB charging I could do without but that’s not a deal-killer with it being IPX8.

One question on the clip: How well does it resist being turned? I’ve had numerous problems with side-switches self-activating but here the clip can be turned to ‘guard’ the switch without obscuring it which would solve that problem.

Too many other things gnawing at the finances right now to spend on any more lights but that will resolve itself at some point and I’ll have at last one of these when it does

Hey mate the clip is facing the other way. It faces down. You can turn it around but the notch sits on directly on the top of the change mode switch. I tried to turn the light on by rolling it around and the button are recessed enough to not activate.
