Chose the one (WUBEN Flashlight)

T102
Any battery included WUBEN?

You can’t guarantee that will be — and continue to be — the case.

Series charging eventually becomes unsafe for the customer.
Probably after your warranty expires.

Take 2 identical cells.
They drain down exactly the same way to the same voltage.
They start at the same low voltage when charging.
They recharge to exactly the same voltage.
No problem.

That never happens. Cells age — and heat cycling ages cells faster.
The cell closer to the heat source will be hotter each time.

And people aren’t removing the batteries, so they’re not getting put back in randomly.

The cells slowly diverge.
If they drain down to exactly the same voltage (if there’s a voltage shutoff in the driver)
Then, as they differ, they will recharge to slightly different voltages.

If they’re protected cells and you’re relying on cell protection to stop the drain
the protection circuits will not be (or remain) identical.

Result — no problem for a while, and eventually you’ll have two rather different cells being recharged in series.

That’s a problem.

Just my opinion, “and I”m just some guy on the Internet”:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Template:cite_guy_in_bar.

But you should talk to an engineer who understands this, not a marketing person.

Type C is for the birds. Count me out

T102 looks good. I think micro usb is a better option. My phone is new and still uses micro usb not many phones use type c yet.

I disagree and agree depending on how strobe is accessed. I don’t like cycling thru a bunch of modes to get there and I don’t like activating it when I don’t need it. A set up like the XTAR WK’s or BK or the Fenix PD’s and UC’s where you have to hit the button a certain way or hit another button is ideal. When I need strobe I need it immediately. I’ve used it a number of times this year to wake up dummies before they added themselves and their cars to accidents. If I had strobe available 15 yrs ago at a similar scene there would be one less guy in a wheelchair today.

PS I voted 103 but it’s a toss up between 102 and 103 for me.

103 looks the best to me… 101 I think the batteries should be side by side not end to end, that long tube with the giant head looks disproportionate. I have never used the strobe option on any of my lights. I find it useless to me, I’d rather see hi-med-low. Personal preference, I can see where strobe can be useful to some individuals as jf_smm just pointed out.

I am a 26650 kinda pimp.

It is integrated shelf. The fins around the button are in the right place, that's where the LED sits, the reflector is long.

Battery is included.

Sorry for my earlier careless reply, after talking with the engineer and viewing some data, I have realized this.

I think you will need a balance charger set up to charge two cells in a series? your charging 8 volts total.

103 is nice looking not a fan of the big heads on the others, it could be because im a newbie and im still piecing together hosts with the smaller cells lol. Also the type c usb port is awesome, i made sure the motherboard on my new pc build came with it built in. For those that dont know it is backwards compatible with older usb data and voltage design although you need phsical adapter. C is twice as fast as 3.0 and the physical plug can be inserted either way as long as its lined up. This in itself is a big plus ive repaired quite a few usb ports because people forced the adapter in the wrong way. Thanks for asking our opinion.

NICE!! :+1:

I like T102, should I sent you my shipping data

Even the balance charger requires balancer cables to monitor the battery voltage of each cell inside, and this is why all the LiPo packs have JST-XH (or similar) balance charge plug.

T101 & T102 has many sharp edges. Maybe good for thumping but would not be nice to skin or pocket. Usb type C is okay…this year and coming year more devices especially gadget will use it everywhere.

I like the looks of the T102. The wider battery tube balances the size of the head and keeps the shape similar to the classic C8, only bigger. There are a lot of single 18650 flashlights and I think you would have a better chance of capturing market share in the less-crowded single 26650 market.

Thank you for the response

Type C connections seem a bit premature to me. By the time they are commonplace these lights will be very out of date and you will no doubt be several generations ahead by the time that they are an every day charging port.

WubenLight, will the flashlight come with a Type C to Type A cable or Micro-USB to Type-C adapter? That would solve the problem for the demographic that’s somehow simultaneously into latest gen flashlight tech but clinging to the nearly 10 year old Micro-USB connector

To me, a new flashlight having Type C is a competitive differentiator. In fact, I wouldn’t buy a newly designed flashlight that uses Micro-USB because I don’t want to spend money on a product designed for the past instead of the present/future. The Google Nexus 5X launched one year ago with Type C. Since then pretty much every major Android manufacturer has switched to Type C for their mid to high-end devices.
