Reflector revised: ReyLight Pineapple Brass 14500/AA Flashlight, Nichia 219C 4000K

Ordered one. Great to see the new 219CT used.

Oh boy. Wish you didn't show us that batch of hosts. The idea of a heavy, but soft metal (brass) light rolling around in an oversize box doesn't give me confidence they are handling these things with care. I don't want to imagine how they individually got in to that box.

Don’t worry, they will be assembled and polished very carefully.

Don't worry, it's me - I wayyy over baby my lights. I think I have a problem...

To be honest, even without engraving, the design itself is your signature.

Preordered (1) last week

Got in my trit order from mixglo.com today, and got the good UV glue already, and have plenty of 14500 cells. On DD FET lights, the AWT's 600 mAh 14500's seem to be the best I've found so far, bought at IMRBatteries.com.

I personally favor the Efest dark purple 14500 for it’s sheer power and longevity.

imrbatteries.com is now joined up with BLF, a 15% discount site wide with the discount code BLF15.

I compared a recent bought EFEST dark purple head to head with the AWT and older WindyFire in the O-L BLF X5, and found I got more amps and more output in the 0-30 second test, all cells charged to 4.20V.

On Manker O-L BLF X5, stock:

EFEST 650 Dark Purple @4.20V

4.55A tail (clamp meter)

1,231 @start 1,112 @30 secs 32 kcd (taken at 5m)
AWT 600 @4.20V 4.84A tail (clamp meter) 1,258 @start 1,146 @30 secs 33 kcd (taken at 5m)

After mods to the X5 (bypass springs, 20 AWG short LED wires, Nyogel/NO-OX-ID treatments):

EFEST 650 Dark Purple @4.21V 5.00A tail (clamp meter) 1,326 @start 1,197 @30 secs 34 kcd (taken at 5m)
AWT 600 @4.21V 5.50A tail (clamp meter) 1,394 @start 1,251 @30 secs 37 kcd (taken at 5m)

This doesn't mean it performs better further discharging, but I thought these results were interesting.

Pre-ordered the brass one. Looks like a fine design and I love the firelfy mode. Couldn’t find the Trtium strip though, which is annoying a bit.

If you don’t mind purchasing from another store…

https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10019709/4159000-1-5-6mm-trit-vials-tritium-tube

I’d recommend mixglo.com over fasttech for tritium.

Never had any experience with FF, but Daniel from mixglo.com is really a nice person.

Cheers :+1:

Look'n Good! I got in my mixglo order - nice personal note included. Also ordered a trit keyfob in ice blue - just added it to my keychain last night, and looks awesome on the nightstand.

You’ll like the keychain trit fob Tom, I have one that literally glows through the material of my pants in a very dark room. Makes finding your keys a snap.

MixGlo is my choice too, for all my trit and UV glue needs. They’re just so meticulous, quick, and reasonably priced…. it’s a no-brainer.

Actually I just tried measuring for radiation of the key fob trit in our high sensitivity Wipe Test Counter using a sodium iodide scintillation tube, but it's not reading any detectable counts, other than regular background, where background is about 500 CPM's.

Tritium is a beta emitter, easily blocked by materials such as the glass it's housed in. Actually that blue china garbage they gave away at gas stations years ago, and the old mantles from a Coleman lantern were much much more radioactive. We still have some of that blue china here at work, but it's kept in a LED lined safe .

I like real flashlights ,that’s why i am here.
But keychains , pendants ,necklaces and/or small cute decorative objects are cool too,i guess.

nice,…
the tint in the pictures seem quite yellow right ?.
I had an astrolux and I’m sure too it was Nichia 4000k and the tint was not so nice.
Any pictures more of this tint ?.
Very nice work Ray!.

Thanks.
