thx for review.

I wish they made flashlights with the tripod mount more towards the middle of the body so you can use the little tripods without it tipping over.

^I think with this one you can get the angle you need, as the head rotates.

@OP, thanks for the review, looks very similar to my Klarus AR10, but better in some ways. I like that its abit shorter, has two buttons, shortcuts to both moonlight & turbo

About the magnet, is it as strong as the olights? I have a few olights and also Klarus AR10, all of which have tail magnets. I’ve noticed that the Klarus magnet is abit weaker, and it often won’t stick on some “weaker” vertical surfaces. What about this one, does it stick just about everywhere it should?

Hey mate it wouldn’t stick on the shed wall but i think because that is thin the wall and the light is just to heavy? Sticks side ways on the fridge and side ways further up on a stronger part of the shed. The magnet is huge.

Looks like this one goes on my bucket list.

The aimable head combined with the magnetic base is the clincher for me, a magnetic base does no good if you can’t point the light where you want it to shine once it’s stuck. Of course the high output and design/build qualities come into play- no point in having crappy lights here anymore :sunglasses: I’d guess the magnet could be doubled-up or replaced with a stronger one. The USB charging I could do without but that’s not a deal-killer with it being IPX8.

One question on the clip: How well does it resist being turned? I’ve had numerous problems with side-switches self-activating but here the clip can be turned to ‘guard’ the switch without obscuring it which would solve that problem.

Too many other things gnawing at the finances right now to spend on any more lights but that will resolve itself at some point and I’ll have at last one of these when it does

Hey mate the clip is facing the other way. It faces down. You can turn it around but the notch sits on directly on the top of the change mode switch. I tried to turn the light on by rolling it around and the button are recessed enough to not activate.

Thanks for that discount code. I have EDC’d an “older’ JR 20 300 lumen model for a few years and love it! Although I’ve admired the 38% brighter 400 lumen version, it didn’t seem to make sense to buy it. Now with 1 1 0 0 lumens and the USB charging capability. that special deal takes a $115 retail light to not $79.85 nor even $63 but to an amazing $52.74 with shipping! maybe this will be an early Christmas present for myself LOL. it should arrive by mid November. THANKS AGAIN for your post and that discount code.

with PPal the site worked!

My 1100 lumen version is on the way yea!!!
as much as I have enjoyed my JR 20 this will be even better!!!

I have older model, JR20, swivel mechanism is just terrible. At first it worked OK, was a bit stiff but it worked, now it just james at the middle and I have to use excessive force to get it back to “straight” position, doesn’t want to go all the way to 90 degree position. Driver is glued so I can’t take a peek to check what could get so wrong inside there…

Question:

would it be possible to place the light in a sealed plastic bag and place in boiling water for a while?

that MIGHT loosen it up a bit. Hope it works out. I love having that light on my strong side in a belt holster.

why not just leave on till it gets really hot same effect? Or even use a hair dryer?

I will try getting it hot but I doubt that will solve anything because it goes freely half the way and then just jams like it hit the wall. Also, I already tried greasing it, didn’t help at all and I can’t keep this light at “boiling” temperature all the time for it to function properly, can I ! Funny thing is that this is basically shelf light, has maybe 20 minutes of use…
Anyway will report back after boiling it…

Short update, heating it up didn’t do anything but brutal force did free it up, it swivels again, wonder how long…

Anyways, I like how they updated this model with USB charging option and indicator leds under the switch booth, not sure if they updated the swivel mechanism!

dam that looks nice,
shame i bought another skilhunt HO3, oh well it does what i need it to

just out of curiosity what camera did you use ?

How come every time I see beam-shots in your backyard, I get thirsty for a beer?

Hey mate i use my phone Sony Xperia Z5. I have a decent cameras but its crap at videos.

Hahaha i have been lazy to do any thing with the keg! Soon i will have it up as a BBQ. Maybe a keg is need for NYE.

Must be nice to have New Year’s in midsummer…

The funny thing is i think it would awesome to have snow on NYE lol. We do not get snow in most cities in Australia except for the odd occasion maybe Hobart does.

Hey mate did you fix the head rotation problem?
