Astrolux S41S Colored with 4*Nichia219B

thanks for the pics.

Nichia219B got purple tint eeewww

XP-G3 got wierd yellow hot spot kind weird too. …Not a nice transition from corona to spill

I don't feel that those beamshots do justice for S41S

Triple XP-G2 S2 with Carclo 10507 optics (LEFT) - S41S Quad 219B (RIGHT) / ~5cm from wall.

There is clearly more artifacts with Carclo setup with naked eye than S41S.

Triple XP-G2 S2 with Carclo 10507 optics (LEFT) - S41S Quad 219B (RIGHT) / ~12cm from wall.

sometime using wrong white balance on camera can effect the outcome and those phone camera /auto modes are hopeless

So far i got 2 nichia stainless steel already and waiting for 2 more XPG 3 colour version coming

Ordered from BG, Nichia + Tube + Holster.

Wasn’t there beamshots of the XP-G3 earlier and they were more/closer to NW? I hope the one I get is not as purple as the shots just above this :(!

EDIT: Actually, the beamshot I mentioned, comparing the emitters, is in the OP.

I got my s41s with xpg3 and it’s got a purple ring around it at low levels. And it gets purple center on higher levels which are visible even at distances. Why is that?

My s41 which is a xpg2 is more towards neutral white and much better colour. Also a lot brighter. :frowning:

It also over heats sooo much. Only 20 seconds and I had to let go of it because it was so hor. Something is wrong. While the s41 wasn’t even warm at turbo.

Also when I try the 0.5 seconds to go a level back it simply goes to low. So whatever level I’m at and I hold for 0.5 it goes to low.

At second level. S41s on left s41 on right.

At turbo s41s on right s41 left.

After having a look. It seems two of the leds are much less bright than the other two. It’s not an angle thing. They also have a purple tint.

Something looks wrong in there. But I can’t seem to open it up to check.

This is no good. Is that a colored or SS version for XP-G3 S41S? I wonder if he blue hue was due to the bezel or optics.

That’s what I was wondering also (where the purple is from and why the brightness diffs).

Of the ones who got theirs already, are they really glued? Anyone tried to disassemble theirs?

Ouch, there is clearly something wrong with the emitter and optics. You probably want to pop it out to check.

It’s the ss silver. Not the coloured. My colored hasn’t arrived yet.
So it’s a ss xpg3. But look at the photo of close up led. Something is wrong.

Is it possible that the two emitters on the right got dedomed? But that would make it warmer (more yellow/green) wouldn’t it?

I tried to open it but it seems very well tight or maybe glued? I have a really good grip strength and I’ve tried many times. It won’t budge.

There was some discussion earlier in the thread, and they said that the mfr was gluing them.

Yes, there is glue on the bezel and optics itself. I am speaking to BG right now. Hope they get hold with the manufacturer soon.

What should I do? Should i contact them and send the photos?
I would like mine fixed because this is such a sexy light.

Sent email to Banggood customer service before the weekend, but so far I’ve got no reply.

Took a deep breath, written this off as a project buy… Then there’s the glued bezel, on which I tried everything to open but failed.

Now I’m really sad.

EDIT: Mine is the Nichia version.

I suspect the emitters (right of pic) are damaged due to excessive heat, and caused partial optics melted away. Leave it as it is if you are unable to dismantle it. Create a ticket and inform them your situation first.

I was just watching this video. During the video, there are several times where he has the front straight-on so you can see the correct view with no purple.

Also, when he took it apart he noted that the optic has only 2 legs instead of 4 legs. I’m wondering if maybe because there’s only 2 legs, that may be why they had to glue the optic to the head? Maybe they also got glue on the emitters, of maybe the glue became liquified with heat and covered the emitters?

I can’t even send a ticket as it wont upload any photos. It says “please upload a picture” and I have and it doesn’t go. Ill have to send them an email directly.

That’s exactly what I got. “Please upload a picture at least” (sic), so I sent an email to csservice at banggood.cn on Friday. No reply.

Could you please help us freeme?
