Just received AIMAI AK02

I just received this little flashlight
The quality is good for the price…

Anybody know how to open the head to see the led ?

I don’t own one, but this image might help.
Does the AK02 fit inside an 18650 battery case? I’m guessing it’s too fat but if it does it would make a pretty good back up light with a cell inside and two spares next to it.

Thanks for the picture

No they don’t fit in a 18650 case

Just 2 resistance inside with the led

This looks so similar outside to the Thorfire KL02 I did a review on HERE If anything, this looks nicer due to the price. Is there a foam donut in the tailcap? I have one on the way, these are nice lights with a CR123 for storage and use in emergencies. Thanks for the pictures OP!

yes they have foam in the tail cap like the KL02

The only difference is the thorfire have only one resistor

Mine got here last week.

I swapped the led for a warm white one to get a bit better quality illumination.

Any links to the LED you used? Definitely like warmer tints for area lights….

That’s a shame, thanks for checking.

Received my 4 aimai ak02 today, I am impressed for the price. It will light up a 20ft X 25ft bedroom nicely and two will do a 25ft X 40 living room (do not know how to post pictures) I like them enough to order a few more for spare bedrooms and kitchen. NOT bright like 60W bulb but good enough to navigate and see the room.

yes they are perfect for power failure

Too bad almost all 16340 I’ve tried are too long for use in them.

What is the longest cell that you’ve tried that will fit?

It’s ok with : Olight 550mAh 16340 IMR Battery

Generic ebay warm white 10 for 2$.

I would put some nichia, but I cant be bothered to cut boards and think of ways to attach. Maybe somewhere down the path.

Very sexy image, but how did you find this out?

Tried with 16340 Trustfire 880 mAh (550 mAh measured) from Fasttech - turns on with lots of threads to go. O-ring is all outside tube.

Tried with 16340 Keeppower 700 mAh (690 mAh measured) from Banggood - turns on with some threads left. O-ring clearly visible.

Tried with CR123A Spiderfire (no idea what’s inside, but very lightweight and visibly dimmer) - bottom cap screws on all the way in.

Batteries under 35 mm shouldn’t be a problem.

Sry for text image links. This site and images don’t add up :stuck_out_tongue:

I have tried with 16340 AW 600 mAh (704 mAh measured)
It fits perfect

I didn’t realize that was your page. I found it with an image search, I find they’re more useful than a regular search when looking for flashlight information. If you click the image I posted it links to your page

Has been said, under 35mm seems to be fine. My Efest 16340 is 34.2 mm and fits good.
