Test/review of Varta 9V 200mAh (Green)

Varta 9V 200mAh (Green)

Official specifications:

  • Type: Ni-MH

  • Capacity: 200 mAh

  • Voltage: 8.4V

  • Size: 48,5 x 17,5 x 26,5 mm

  • Low self discharge

This is a 7 cell NiMH battery.

At low load the battery has the specified capacity and it looses some capacity with, but nothing like a Alkaline battery.
The battery is rated 8.4V and for most of the runtime it will have higher voltage than a 9V Alkaline.

Conclusion

The NiMH 9V batteries has considerable less capacity than 9V Alkaline, but can handle much higher power.
This battery looks like a good one.

How is the test done and how to read the charts

I am one of the guys who asked 9v reviews.
Thanks for this one.

A quick note:

The measured capacity figure at 0'02A of discharge current is messed up.

Correct figure: 0'18819Ah.

I'd better like to see 8S Ni-MH cells reviewed, some 6F22/6LR61 equipment seems to be fairly picky with voltage (my multimeter, for example).

Thanks for the review.

Cheers ^:)

Fixed, I was missing a comma in one of the capacities.

I will publish some reviews of 8 cell NiMH.
