HaikeLite XHP70 Thrower Prototype Sneak Preview

Thanks for catching that update. Hopefully it’ll do an honest 5000 lumens. That’s still damn good, and 140 kcd is damn good too if it’ll really do it. Am I actually their first buyer? Btw, I got the NW version. The spec game is risky, and so is the reliability. Hopefully I don’t end up regretting this decision.

You ordered one from their website? I really dunno - no shipping notice yet? I don't think they will be ready til this weekend, at the earliest.

I would be interested in XHP-35 HI for throw as well. But only if the light is fully constant-current regulated (no step-downs) and has the two switches for mode memory.

I really like the looks of this light. Looks promising!

Yep, I ordered through their website. Full price. I didn’t even try for a reviewer discount because I know I won’t find time to do a review. I tried ordering it earlier, but Haikelight didn’t respond to my pm, which is annoying since they asked for inquiries via pm didn’t they?

Looks interesting. Looking forward for the review

Amy news?

Any news?

And any news for XHP35 Hi + SMO ?

Noth'n yet for me. Delays again, most likely.

Mine was supposed to ship yesterday. Did it?

I got notice mine shipped, so good news!

I think Some guys will get it next week

Update:

Some Beamshot outdoor (Reflector OP) ( OP reflector VS SMO reflector comparison will be done tomorrow night)

Here we go (Please ignore the red-color switch led on the proto; final products are with Blue color switch, Tom E will receive one final light for review next week)

MT07 CW VS Car High-beam (MT07 much brighter and much much longer distance )

A iron tower (400m-500m away)

MT07 light up the tower

Borrowed a Convoy L6 from a friend (He told it’s a 5000K NW)

Left L6 ; Right MT07

MT07 can not call it a pure thrower ; But shot distance is still nice

Nice, appears to be a fair bit brighter than the L6.

It should be brighter then the L6 with the extra current, makes me want to build a TA driver for my L6 lol.

Do you have any beam shots on a white wall in the lower modes to show if there is any “donut hole” in the beam?

Only very close to wall (about half meter),you can see a tiny dark hole. Over half meter the donut hole can barely been seen.

SMO reflector has a donut hole. Will do a comparison between OP and SMO tomorrow night.

Beamshots looks good, it seems to be considerably throwier than the L6. HaikeLite can you also do a side by side white wall shot vs the L6 at about 3-5 meters using the OP reflector? Thanks

Indeed, I would also like to see this.

Do you have a neutral white version for comparison while you are at it?

Yes, will do it tomorrow.

@Texas_Ace

We have NW version to compare.

Just measured the Convoy L6 head and reflector.

L6 head at the bezel: 73 mm (75 mm at thickest point, lower down)

L6 reflector: 63.0 mm I.D., 67.5 mm O.D., 48.5 mm depth

As posted in the OP, the MT07 has a 72 mm I.D. and 68 mm depth, so with the extra 9 mm of I.D. width, the MT07 should definitely out throw an L6 with everything else being equal (LED/amps). The extra 20 mm of depth should mean the spill on the MT07 should be narrower by quite a bit, so that should make the spill area brighter, maybe a slight bump in throw, maybe... Good comparative beam shots should make it clear, but we'll have to wait on that - hopefully those great garden beamshots done in Germany will soon include the MT07.

Thread here on bluzie's garden - he's got posts with lots of beamshots: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/37084

Here on the German TLF: http://www.taschenlampen-forum.de/threads/933-beamshots-mit-lampenbildern.27575/

Seeing the first beam shots of the XHP 70 Thrower and the MINI Triple XHP70, I think I will go for the xhp 70. [for now]
