My latest knives ( Pay a few dollars more ? )

What can I say :

Both appear to be the real deal .
Quality on both is exceptional .
So far nothing to complain about .

So what the parking lot is going on ? ( I can only imagine )

Anyhow , I was surfing Ebay and looking at D2 knives when I spied these two .
Now it crossed my mind that they were most likely Clones ! , or possibly one of those fleebay scams ….
Color me blind when both knives arrived safe and sound .

Not only that , but the knives were outstanding ( For Clones ) , so outstanding in fact I can’t help but think they may be the real deal …
Anyhow , both knives are razor sharp , tight as a bank vault , and I don’t know about the steel as yet . ( hopefully the real deal )

The spyderco paramilitary 2 is not suppose to have this nudge.
The RAT is made in the USA, so how could it be sold by a Chinese and still make a profit?

They both seem like clones but they look great the steel on both is probably 8cr13mov.

Hmmmmmm !

Product image on Spyderco website has the same notch on the blade … So this may not be a reliable way to determine whether this knife is a clone or not .

Guess you’re right!

How are you gonna determine what kind of steel it is?

I have no way to determine what the steel is …
The only thing I can do is a cut test …
Cut something till the blade goes blunt …
I have a 8cr13mov , 9cr18mov , 9cr13mov to compare against . ( If whats printed on the blades is correct )
I find cardboard tends to blunt knife blades well …

I have never owned AUS-8 , or S30V … ( A first for me if whats stamped on the blades is correct )
I do know that Chinese 440 stays sharp about half has as long as 8cr13mov when cutting cardboard .
And 9cr18mov stays sharper a little longer than 8cr13mov . ( Not a massive difference but noticeable )

The original Rat is made in Taiwan.
The both blades are 8cr13mov.
