HOw about adding a donate using paypal button?

I dont know if sb has a paypal account but if he did then people can donate for site maintenance and costs.

Thanks very much for the idea, I really do appreciate everybody's willingness to help! But as I mentioned in the site move announcement, we are now on a really unique host that offers top notch performance and features at a near-budget price. So it's not breaking the bank yet. And the Adsense ads I run here also help considerably.

Thanks so much for your thoughtfulness!

If ever you do feel the squeeze from hosting this website (thank you again btw), one idea I liked from an automotive forum I used to frequent was that anytime anyone sold an item through the forum they donated 5% of the selling price to the owner of the site. It seemed to work quite well.

The new host seems to be quite fast.

Cheers!

Mr. Admin!

I'm delighted by your policy choices. But please, please do let us know if you need a few bucks to keep it running. Speaking for me alone, I'd be delighted to help. The cinema here costs a fortune, you have provided many, many hours of fun for me. Way more than the cinemas here have.

So I'd be delighted to put in more than a few cinema tickets worth.

Good point! I've got many a good hour here already so I´d pitch in too. Although the cinemas here are unbelievable expensive so we only go once a year! (20-35 usd/person depending on the movie!)

Confucius say - Never look a gift horse in the mouth - Meaning, when someone gives you a free horse, don't look in it's mouth to see if it has good teeth, just take the dammed thing and go. (It's a Texas thang).

If you did accept gifts from members, then the budget server would be paid for from members. I for one, would feel more a part of the community, if I were to put in a few bucks. It would make me feel more useful.

I know there's two sides to every story, or 3 or 4 dimensions, and I could see some people that might "do it wrong", by giving and then expecting something in return.

I am sure you have your reasons. We have ours. Maybe if the donations were taken and used to purchase lights that could be given away... It's a thought.

Some of us feel, always have, always will, that saying "thank you" is not much more than lip service and has little meaning, where a donation has more meaning, since it comes from the pocket instead of the mouth...

I've gotten information, fun, advice, and much much more from this site. I'm on site two + hours a day! I like the open self regulated style of the members and the views on flashlights and other things.

If this site needs a PayPal donation or me to over bid on a site run auction or carry BLF's water in any way I'm willing.

The new server is faster. I really enjoy BLF and the members I find here.
