Astrolux single AA light?

To make it easier and neater to keep your alkalines separate from your light, these 4aa cases do the trick, some places also sell cases for 2aa, or 4 and 2 aaa cases.

I avoid alkaline batteries as much as I can. Low Self Discharge Nimh is the way to go for me. Much cheaper on the long run and they don’t leak.

To my feature list I would also add micro-USB charging port.
Olight S15R was charging only 14500 as far as I remember. Don’t recall anything that could charge eneloop inside the flashlight. And it’s not budget…and bad tint…and not a tail clicky.

Wish Neal was still here… Then we would know that at least they would read it and consider it.

But if this is picked up (by Astrolux, or even ‘Zanflare’), I hope they understand that succes of a new budget AA light is 99% related to an efficient boost driver with good user interface. Using a run-of-the-mill chinese AA driver with low efficiency, low frequency PWM and bad modes and spacing will make it another so so light at most useful as a host. Examples: Manker understood it well, they have developed some great drivers for their AA lights (but personally I do not like the designs and they are too expensive to be budget), and Thorfire did not get it (the TG06 is a very nice design IMO, but it has a very disappointing driver).

Maybe we could ask the producer of the sign fire blf 348 edition to a,key just the same light for aa batteries would be a great thing

It was suggested, a blf-348 AA would be ground-breaking.

I don’t understand there’s not a whole series.
They should make AA and 18650 versions too i.m.o.
The design is pure and very simple, people love it.

Am I the only one who wants a Kronos 14500 tube light? :frowning:

Depends on what it’s gonna cost.

I was interested in this, but I have found some relates claiming that the L10’s and L11’s will break very easily if dropped. I guess the solder points will break in impact because the body is not well designed, something like that. I’m having a lot of trouble finding a good 1xAA.

I agree. The BLF348’s I’ve gifted are well-loved and well-used. There’s a market open and waiting for at least a AA/14500 version of this light. Neal is already being sorely missed- he was good at making things like this happen.

I gave 2 SingFire 348s away to normal people (lol) and they carry it every day. :+1:

The Astrolux S3 should have a AA/14500 version.

This is my favorite AA/14500 light. My EDC most often. I’ve bought 3 since I can’t seem to stop loosing them. Nice size and warm tint.

I was looking for an AA tube light too…until Acebeam sent me an M10.
See my review, but I will not lie : I really like it

I LOVE the side switch and UI of my Olight S1A, but its head is a bit bigger than I’d like.
I LOVE the shape of the Klarus Mi7, but hate both mode spacing and UI…
I LOVE the simplicity of my Thorfire TG06, but it’s too big for its battery…

The M10 fills the gap, IMHO

Whag about SIPIK AA flashlites for 4$?
Can we use their driver with Nichia 219B?

If only Convoy made an AA light !
I’m sure an AA size S2+ style light would sell well. I would assume finding a decent boost driver would be the issue.

Yes, that’s the real problem, AA require boost driver :open_mouth:
But I’m sure that if Simon sees a good sale opportunity, he might think about it…
Maybe a poll ?
I would definitely buy a Convoy AA tube light (within 18mm in diameter and 90mm in length of course)

The best and the most balanced AA light that i have is Olight S15( and i have shit load of those, prolly every possible model) , unfortunately it has been stopped.

Yet, to be realy the best one should mod the emitter with…lets say something like 219C or 219B- by default its tint is greenish

The non budget great model is Zebra H51 w Phillips Lumileds High CRI- te lumen output isnt great yet all the rest is, i have one of those in the car, the other moonlights my bedroom for a month already 24/7

Me too! On the wish list I would put neutral/warm emitter, preferably with higher CRI.
