Olight S Mini

The clip is quite hard to remove, I would trust it on a keychain

Glad to know. Thanks

I have another concern if you wont mind, I noticed my SMini Ti steps down to low mode after running on high for less than a minute and wont go any higher (press and hold or double tapping the power on button will bring it to medium mode for half a second then back to low mode again) unless I turn it off then on, any clue on this?

What battery are you using?

Sounds like it might be a low battery, or an insufficient battery.

AW 16340. Still 4.07v left

Edit:
Just tested my S Mini Cu RG and got the same result (AW 16340 - different one) :weary:

Steps down at 45 secs

Edit 2:
Another test on S Mini Cu RG with stop watch = 44 secs

Are you guys hitting 90 secs mark on high mode?

Will test this tomorrow

Yow, that’s rough. The loss, the timing, the mad dash for the funeral, the silence/whispering, and the illness. I hope she’s feeling better now! At least, as much as one can in the circumstances.

I’ve put a small lanyard on mine made out of 2mm leather cord with a few wooden beads and a couple of diamond knots. It gives me just that little bit extra purchase when holding it plus allows me to tug it out of my pocket easily. The clip is very strong - I’d trust if to hang my raggy 100kg backside off it……

yes. gets super hot by then!

Tested it with CR123 and 16340, no issues at all. Ceiling bounce test shows 56lux at start and about 45lux at 90sec mark, and goes to about 40lux at 2min.

Mary went back to work today, she’s very stubborn, still not able to talk but she’s gotten used to whispering. lol The cough has her ribs bruised, and on top of everything else last night she was taking some broken down boxes to a staging area for recycling in our game room and rammed her foot on a little metal cabinet I have a bunch of flashlight stuff in, took a chunk out of the side of her little toe and had it bleeding pretty nice. Like she needed that! lol Of course it was MY cabinet’s fault, static though it was. :person_facepalming:

So guess who’s coughing and on antibiotics now? I don’t care, I’ll mod something anyway… where’s that little Rose Gold beaut?

Can I ask which 16340 do you guys use? Maybe my AW RCR123 couldn’t handle the 2A draw on high mode?

I am using Olight 16340 model number: ORB-163P06

Thanks for the info. I find it weird my AW 16340 protected can’t handle the draw when its also rated for 1.5A (2C).

Gotta wait for my Eagletac to test

Off topic but following through, the wife is talking again but now has cracked a rib from coughing so much. Insult to injury and all that.

I haven’t seen the SMini, she’s got it in her purse but I don’t know if she’s even clicked it on since her birthday, what with all that’s been going on. From what I recall, the TIR gave the light a slightly green cast… is that just me or has anyone else noticed that too?

I never liked the tint on my raw copper S-mini. It was kinda greenish in the center and had a pronounced blue ring corona. Not sure if the TIR had anything to do with it though. Good news is that its easy to fix with an emitter swap.

So I’ve got to get it away from my wife and crack it open, put a 5000K Nichia 219C in it? She’d better not catch me!

Never knew about this light in the not too distant past. Will be an awesome gb light without a doubt.

I think that would result in a horrible beam pattern. The TIR optic is made for an XM-L2.

There are still some options
