Rating: Manafont.com [OUT OF BUSINESS]

After my earlier posts (#13 & 14) Jim from Manafont emailed me directly, and said he'd learned from BLF about my incorrectly described and faulty cells, and offered a refund or exchange. I replied requesting a store credit for a future purchase, and a few hours later, it's been done.

Now that's service you can be happy with!

Cheers

@didge

Very nice, thanks Jim for putting your customers first!

Manafont is really putting effort to be the one of the best retailers if not the best.

I emailed them about the "write a review issue" which shows the reviewer with full name which actually bothers me a lot! I hope they can solve it or i believe there will be not much reviews going on.

I would never agree to post a review under my real name.

I never use my real name in the internet at all, exept for my personal email. I use an inkognito email account for logon to forums. In the one, I use for this forum for example, my alias name is Hans Meier, which is a very common german name as like John Smith would be in english locations. Also I never post pictures of myself ,my home or family members. My privacy is the most expensive thing I have.

And surprise! They solved it in less than an hour. Impressive.

Looks like Manafont is keeping a close eye on BLF. BLF ROCKS!!! Cool

Yikes! Thanks for mentioning it. Hopefully they'll put this on the top of their TODO list. Please let us know if it gets resolved.

Ok, that's a good start. Could a representative from Manafont please let us know when the security bug has been fixed?

Thanks.

Wouldn't this only be a positive for you since he pays and you get the light? :p

This is the problem:

Your link to the c3 r5 contains the osCsid in the url. Unfortunately, they use paypal address so no free light for you.

First of all, that is not my link. It is from this thread from Vectrex: http://budgetlightforum.cz.cc/node/718

Second of all, I'm not trying to get a free light. Seems like you're trying to accuse me of something?

You really got some personality problems.

Ah! Thanks agenthex, that's part of the problem. I wonder if Oscommerce has found a workaround for that, because it's inevitable that sometimes users will post their session ID by accident.

I jest.

Is something wrong with my links? I just copied them from Manafonts page... can't find anything wrong in them.

@Vectrex:

I just now changed the link in one of your posts that ended in something like osCsid=defw422r43tWEFm34352. It appears there is an issue with the catalog software they are using that it applies user information based on the session ID, which is part of the URL.

I am trying to get the osCsid to show up on my URL at Manafont now, and it's not appearing. I wonder if they fixed this already?

Ah, OK... thanks.. wasn't aware of that problem... I don't even have an account there... I wonder what user information is in there

What probably happened is that Vectrex posted the link, however he never bought anything (it's a psudorandom, but unique id). But midieval came along, used the linked, maybe bought something/created an account, and the id is now associated with him forever and ever. Now someone else used the same link/sid and they're using midieval's account. [Un]fortunately, MF rely on paypal's info for payment/shipping, and we mostly miss out on the lulz.

However, people can still have fun with that original link if they have it cached...

I'm not sure midieval10 would like that..

Surely as committer of the original sin, you can see the humor in the cascade of events you've caused. :)

Well, it's one thing if it's an honest "mistake" (mine) - which was caused by an imperfect software on Manafonts (original sinner) page... the login should always be required. It's a completely different thing to purposely post ways of using the now corrected error in a way that is causing potential problems for one or more users of this forum. (and someone might do it)

You Sir... have a strange definition of humor.
