We also find a nice Cordura sheath with logo IMALENT well built, we can mount it on a bag with MOLLE attachments or belt, or via a carabiner to hang it ’plastic ring at the top.

Well, now we take the torch in his hand and analyze them in his points, we can divide into 2 main parts:
BODY
the EU06 has a total black anodizing Halll, has a great touch and feed the sense of robustness, but seems to hold up well to shock and slightly slippery, looks like the anodizing of new nitecore. The rest is well done. The materials are of really good quality, give the torch a sense of incredible strength equal to ThruNite catapult. The machining is precise, clean without smearing, checkered checkered grip allows you to use the torch, even with gloves without slipping. The tailcap of light gray color, it allows the tailstand smoothly and has a threaded hole for mounting on a tripod. (I contacted imalent because the hole for the stand on my model is not UNC 14/20 but otherwise, this “bug” will be corrected by the house after my report.)

The thread that joins the head is of square section with 5 coils, flow smoothly without blocks or games, immediately after there is a groove for the OR of good size that insulates well from water and dust. Everything came well lubricated and clean, without any residue processing. The thicknesses of about 3mm confer excellent resistance and solidity to the whole length of the body, light enough where ’inside we find a narrowing that becomes 18.5 mm by 22.3 mm and serves to accommodate the batteries which otherwise would 18650/cr123 game. On the bottom we see the pbc spring with a really thick gold plated. The body allows the entire tailstand torch.

HEAD
It has a rectangular shape generously sized and heavy weight, as has 3 LED, 2 function keys and the touch display. On top there is a crown protection steel with matte finish that prevents reflections, has protective function of anti-reflective glass with transmittance of 98%. Thicknesses also here really generous and the good number of dissipating fins, maintain the torch at a temperature of use at maximum power really low, about 48 ° C using the LED xml2.

We analyze its 4 sides
1 Side
with buttons dedicated to the ON / OFF the flashlight and its hidden features strobe-SOS beacon. The keys are embedded in a ring of anodized aluminum with a matte finish all rotate freely and have engraved on the function they perform. The M key to cycle through the hidden mode and press the ON / OFF with the same symbol. The buttons are easy to press and give a feeling of “click” similar to the mouse buttons. We also see that is the word Imalent laser. Well done to the touch and deep, with great precision.

2nd and 3rd Side
with LED XP-E and XP-G2, respectively, Neutral White and Red. Dedicated to the function of flood flashlight, you can see the LED die in the bottom of the TIR lens with a slightly matte finish all held by a ring of anodized allumninio. We also see the cooling fins.

display with touch screen, which is managed throughout the Ui torch, all is well embedded in the head to protect it from damage or falls, has a protective film against scratches . The dimensions allow its use even for those with large hands. We also find the lettering laser-written with the model.

The torch has a kind of parable Smooth deep enough to allow a good throw of about 16k lux / m, the LED XM-L2 is well centered. From all fathers are opposite the spring contact gold plated, all held in place by a plastic ring and an aluminum cap.

-LED-DISPLAY INTERFACE TO USE

This EU06 is designed for a good range of uses since its ability to issue 2 different light beams more red one. The main LED is a XM-L2 U2 from tint Coolwhite coupled to a parabola Smo of considerable size allows thanks to 900Lumen ANSI have a good throw of 200m actual. The spot is well defined with an aperture of 10 ° and fades into a spill about 50 ° with wide enough to allow for optimal peripheral vision, without blinding the user. From my testing the torch in its highest mode and with a cell 2200mah fully charged it stops after 1h34m thanks to the stepdown that the torch will to protect itself from further damage due to heat.
At the side of the LED flashlight we find secondary XP-G2 from a neutral tint and pleasant, with well 290lumen ANSI Power and frosted TIR optics allow a flood beam artifact-free and evenly blended, about 110 °. After a week of using this is perhaps the LED I used more during evening walks, I have used as a light source for photographic subjects experiencing a great success. From my testing the torch stops with a 2200mah battery at full load after 3h41min.

On the opposite side an XP-E RED will allow us to have a beam similar to the flood but red light, you notice a spot slightly more pronounced because of the smaller LEDs. The red light might seem almost useless unless you go hunting or whatever you think has a more specific role, but to my surprise I noticed that if you use it to walk in very dark places or take walks in the house without disturbing the sleep of others, and far more effective than a white led.

Now for the most awaited and important piece of the torch, his touch DISPLAY. The touch of the EU06 is 30mm x 16mm, from here we can control the flashlight in all its functions. It ’a touch of the resistive type high sensitivity and precision. The brightness allows us to read the data well written above and does not bother the user, even if in complete darkness. Lighting it appears: - Logo IMALENT - Battery Status indicated by 3 notches to go out on the basis of charge of the cell 18650. When the notches are all turned off the torch will have another 10 minutes of runtime.

Nice review. Bonus points for lots of pictures, even more points for having a review as your second post.

another FUN light from Imalent! Thanks for presenting it.

I am digging that model! Especially after reviewing the SA04. Nice work and welcome to BLF!

Thanks for the review.

Unless I missed it. You didn’t mention in your review how to charge the flashlight??

It doesn’t seem to have a built in charger, so you have to take the battery out and charge externally?

Oh that’s a letdown. That means you have to buy a separate charger. If you mention to them a future model should have internal charging. Most if not all top end torches have this feature. Having to spend more money after buying an already expensive item could be a deal breaker for most. This should definitely be an added feature.

Please also be aware that most lights, including this one I think, are not sold with a rechargeable battery. Yes, with most lights you need to buy a battery and external charger.

Looks really interesting light thought I find the output to be low

I think some dealers offer a package deal with the battery included. Some don’t even allow for a regular battery. They are sized for the 1860 lithium ( I may be wrong about the battery number) I believe this one is so sized.

It uses an 18650 battery (18mm diameter, 65mm length of bare cell without protection circuit). Imalent also have their own blue coloured 18650 cells that can be sold with the light as a package deal indeed. It is often not a really good deal, as this battery can be found much cheaper. But you still need a charger.

Can someone tell me what the difference from the 2015 to the 2016 version of this torch is.Thank you

One difference is the emitter. The 2016 version has an XP-L HI emitter, whereas the older version has the XM-L2 emitter. The XP-L HI emitter is a bit more efficient, but has a much more focused hotspot resulting in more throw. There may be other differences, but I’m not aware of that.
