so if it is like the manker, at least the U11 does have blinky modes which are partially hidden.

though if you press the button twice with too-short a time in between, it does go directly to the most annoying blinky mode it has.

If I could jump in here for a sec…

No idea how Manker does things, but I know people in the biz, and one thing you learn, hopefully not the hard way, is that you NEVER put all your eggs in one basket. If Manker handed over a prototype flashlight to a factory in KungPao or MooShu and said, “Here, make us 10k/100k/1M of these…”, they should expect the factory to crank out 2× or 3× as many, and have them on the market before even the first Manker-branded light hits the streets.

You give the battery tubes to factory X in city A, the head to factory Y in city B, the driver to Factory Z in city C, and so on.

One side benefit is that the factory can’t get cheap and, say, make the tube/tail with triangular threads instead of square threads. They might/will screw together just fine, and might be okayed through QC before anyone’s the wiser, whereas if factory Y makes triangular threads, you’ll know instantly when the tails don’t screw onto the tubes.

And no single company will have all the pieces to throw together all the parts to make all those clones.

Point being, someone had to have the plans to make the E11 clone, in one place, with all the specs, else it’d be just as easy to put different knurling, a slightly different shape, etc., vs an identical clone. Look at all the variations in C8s, that look alike from a distance, but are different dimensions, weights, threads, and so on, that it’s rolling the dice if your remote switch will screw onto the end of the battery-tube, or if this “C8” pill will screw into that “C8” head, etc.

Manker, if you just handed someone a prototype and said, “Make X of these…”, you kinda asked for it (and some might say, deserve it). If not, then hey, go after them for whatever infringements you can think of, now, before they sell their whole inventory. Go all Suefire on their asses…

Frankly, I’m so sick of blinky modes that it’s an instant dealbreaker for me, so I got no dog in this fight either way, as I ain’t getting either original or clone.

But almost half the price? Hmm, can’t say I blame people for wanting the clone if the 30buk MAP is strictly enforced across the board, with no discounts, group-buys, sales, anything.

Ordered NW.

Hopefully its won’t come with greenish look tint.
