Will these be made with xpg3 ?

Pretty sure it says XP-G2. Banggood shows them with 7 XP-G2… at about $65 as listed about an hour ago.

$50 still sounds high for a group buy price….especially with all the interest. We should be shooting for around $42.

Are there any reviews yet?

As i said in a previous post i’m interested. This light looks like a baby SRK  with similar output… However i’m curious to see how long it can withstand 2500 lumens. I hope it does not behave like the Manker MK34.

Technically i’m wondering how sound is this design… Why bother with seven leds when you can achieve the same output with a single XHP50 or 70? I understand it would need a boost driver though… That may be why?

It’s dedicated to Scaru.

For me it’s charisma.

That’s a name we’ve missed for awhile.

I like the 7 light set up. It’s the light those cheap $0.99 should be and they do bear a similar shape and LED count. It’s the mini soda can light. It’s the one you tell your brother you modified from the store yesterday after watching a YouTube video.

In my little and insignificant opinion on DQG lights, the mode spacing is better in real life. I have three great general purpose levels on my tiny AA, and four great general purpose modes on my Tiny 18650 V3 and V4.

In person and on paper, these things are different. The Tiny 18650 has NO MOON! Dealbreaker for some, but the low on it is low enough to use in a wake-up-in-the-dark setting without FUBARing your vision, and conversely, strong enough to be usefull in most dark situations.

Still, there is no perfect, all in one level, or set of levels. DQG is a small designer who likes lights, I will give this one a go, as I have some of his previous lights, and they are good for me…

Well, if you’re happy with it, that’s fine, but a jump from 8lm to 250lm is not acceptable IMHO in a small light. That’s like going going from low to turbo in the lights we were using 10 years ago. We wouldn’t have been happy with 2 mode lights with that spacing then and no maker tried that, so why should we accept that jump now? Nobody said it needs to have 10 modes, but why can’t they be evenly spaced in terms of how our eyes perceive changes in brightness?

2500, 800, 250, 8 should be 2500, 800, 250, 80, 25, 8 to have relatively even mode spacing.

7 LED’s in this small of a light!

I want the BOOM!! WOW!! FRIGGAN YEAH! factor….1 mode for me, thats all I need
I’ll be cool like that

10 years ago you didn’t have 2500 lumens in a light with a 1 1/4” head that fit in your palm.

10 years ago you didn’t have a 5000mAh 26650 Li-ion.

10 years ago a lot of us had hair. :stuck_out_tongue:

A lot of things change, we learn to roll with the punches.

Edit: I personally don’t care a lot about the driver either way. I’ll most likely build a new one with ramping firmware and run with it.

Like I said, its my own insignificant opinion. No tests as of yet, and there are never any exaggerations or mistranslations during new light releases. Yes, 8 to 250 lumen is a large jump…

It is also a flooder, so if it covers twice the area with the beam, it is only going to appear as bright (to the eye) as a 62 lumen spot… with 4x the area…

At 800 lumen, 4x 200 lumen spot side by side (like a quad spot, not on top of each other) and at 2500 lumen, about like 4x 625 lumen spots in a quad formation.
