The review will be posted tomorrow . But here is a sneak peak :
UI : Ultra low - Low - Medium - High and hidden Strobe - Sos - Beacon mode
From off :
Single click (short) turns light on , on the lowest mode
Longer click turns light on , on the last used mode (not available for ultra low mode , because you can access it with short click)
Double click turns light on strobe (you enter hidden modes)
From on :
If you are in a regular mode :
Single click cycles between (Ultra Low - Low - Medium - High)
Double click and you’re in Strobe
If you are in a hidden mode :
Single click cycles between (Strobe - SOS - Beacon)
Double click and you’re in last used regular mode
Also , max lumens on High , using 14500 should be ~600 (to be confirmed in review) .
Thanks a lot for the first impressions! It tentatively is looking very good.
Is this similar to to the E11 with the battery you are using? Budda suggests that “you’ll need high quality IMR 14500” in his review of the Manker E11, which had considerably higher output, but might be a battery difference:
efest purple must be the best choice . It has a perfect fit (the shorter battery) , and i think it will give maximum output . I’m charging the cell now .
Same here and no desire for any. Is there any quality (protected) cell out there which is slightly shorter that might work or a ‘workaround’ of any kind which is still safe?
I bought this after probably overpaying/not doing enough due diligence in picking up the ZL SC52 L2; which I like for its 500 turbo lumens, decent throw and it to being an instant (high quality/protected) hand warmer this time of year.
Gaining 20%(?) more lumens by using an unprotected cell (even for this little comparative money) doesn’t make me sleep any better at night. Perhaps I’d feel better if I knew that ZL’s on board protection circuit was comparable yet I’m guessing that it’s not.
