Banggood could post here a video showing us how it does the verification that it is the updated version that will be sent.

I also received 3 defective tips. Not confident ill receive non defective lights. Currently waiting for their CS to respond.

that is so ridiculously frustrating that I cannot even begin to consider trying to do a return w Bangood.

I just received a Tool from them, Im very happy with it, as it was only $25. The fact it came with a broken box, makes me think they were discounted for that reason. Im certainly NOT going to try and return it.

Bottom line, not impressed with Bangood quality control, and absolutely hopeless Customer Service script…

  1. send a video request to the customer
  2. reply with a form letter that is not responding to the video

word to the wise:
US companies accept returns without the video and without the irrelevant form letter script

I look forward to reading that people like streamer who got V1 Tips from Bangood after M4D M4X group buy thread claimed Bangood had checked their stock and would only ship V2 Tips (this did not actually happen) got prompt refunds

What Bangood says, and what Bangood does, do not match reality.

I have a TIP from BG in the mail, and i am now wondering if there is a way to check whitch version it is? And is the standby-drain issues the only difference between V1 and V2?

I just received my copper tool from Banggood too. The package had the same foam padding, same white paper wrapping around the hard box, the box was not broken and the light was in a copper-colored vacuum-sealed wrap. It is strange that yours was packed differently… different batches?

I have one in my hand and it doesn’t flash red when put in lockout mode. It’s a V2.

I'm almost sure that GB's CS answer (that they're V1) was... whatever, but did you buy it from GB?

Thanks for the info. Glad your box was not broken and your packaging was not clear plastic.

Mine came in a clear vacuum sealed clear plastic package as pictured. It struck me as unusual because all my 6 other Copper Tools, and 4 other Maratacs all came in silver foil vacuum sealed packs.

I will say that whatever Bangood is doing, I certainly do NOT hold M4D M4X responsible. He has been super helpful to me in every way. Im not even sure it is fair to blame Bangood for selling TIPs that they received from Nitecore. After all it is Nitecore that is shipping V1 and V2 lights to Bangood. It is entirely possible that Bangood has no idea that some of the lights they ship are V1. (Obviously they dont check every light they ship, other vendors dont either)

Bottom line, there is still mixed V1 and V2 Tip stock at multiple vendors including Bangood, Lumen Tactical, Illum, Battery Junction, etc… Just dont expect Bangood to make a return simple, as you can see by their CS script, with repeated requests for video evidence, that they then ignore and follow with yet another video request.

Word to the wise, if you buy from Bangood, dont expect them to make it easy to return if you end up with a V1 Tip.

A recent report of a Gold V2 and Green V1 Tips shipped from Battery Junction, is exactly the opposite of an earlier report from Illumn, that stated they tested their stock and the Gold ones were V1… All these vendors are receiving mixed shipments from Nitecore, some V1, some V2… There is no consistent color pattern to know which will be V1 or V2.

i got also reports of V1 sold in offline store in germany...

I dont think Nitecore is sending them marked as V1 and V2 they are all the same to Nitecore? The suppliers will not know for sure. Also they may not buy directly from Nitecore which is another issue.

I must say that I’m happy that I never ordered any TIPs.

Nitecore screwed up badly with the lockout drain and then even worse with the handling of shipments and markings/naming of the fixed version.

I have now ordered a Manker LAD.
It’s not perfect spec. wise.
But, as opposed to Nitecore, Manker seems to have learned from past mistakes; so I have high hopes that it will live up to expectations.

I received a FULL PayPal Refund from Banggood today. The Circus-like hoop jumping and the back and forths were such a Royal PITA to accomplish that I still feel ill used. :TIRED:

Granted, Banggood did issue a refund and it was the right thing to do, but it was Severely negated by the manner in which it was handled.

Lucky, i havent even received response.

Thats good news, i considered the Tip Winter, but after the Holidays, i would prefer any other colour haha. Unfortunately my 3 CRI’s were not updated. Sent pictures and videos to Banggood, still without a response. So it looks like there is no solution for me. :person_facepalming:
