Review : Utorch UT02 Flashlight (XHP35 / 26650 / usb rechargeable)(in progress)

Got mine today. But they sent CW instead of NW. Oh well. Pretty nice little torch.

Please someone with a fresh battery can offer the values at 3 meters with luxmeter?
Tanks.

On a Manker U21 for LJ (Light Junkie) with tail clamp meter got 5.93A, 1,780 lumens, and 253 kcd measured at 5m. This is using a dedomed XPL W2 1A from the AliExpress source, but not trusting it's a true W2 bin. But it did perform slightly better than my U21 modded the same way with a dedomed XPL V6 0D (~1,1710 lumens, 240 kcd).

I think these #'s are not bad for the reflector diameter, smaller than an HD2010 size, bigger than a C8.

Now that is pretty sweet! :+1:

I love the form factor of this light. Not longer than a C8, shorter than most, nice 26650 capacity and performance, bigger reflector/more throw than a C8, and quality finish. Just didn't like we could not get Manker to work out a deal - they would not take a nickel off the price (frustrating for our BLF group buy/discounters guys) and I guess GearBest was as frustrated as we were. To me it's one perfect mod host.

Just the way I like it.

Yeah, as a host only for a reasonable price I’d buy it. Similar in size to my short Convoy L2, has the advantage of a momentary switch.
But my L2 outthrows the Utorch with XP-L V6 dedomed.

Sure, I got lots of lights that out throw this light, but the L2 is not as pocketable as this light. Yes, I have an L2 that does 282 kcd @5m, lots of HD2010's, a few MaxToch throwers, a TN31, a BOSS1, a K40, 1504's, etc.... If I go out on a hike, The U21 or this UT02 can make the trip, but the L2 and larger lights will be sitting home.

I guess maybe Texas really is a whole nother country… here, we go on hikes for our health, carrying the larger light can only be better for us as it’s more exercise.

(well, actually, we don’t typically go on hikes, per se. It’s a half mile walk to go get the mail. Can be that or more to go to the Dr.s office at the hospital. Park at the outer edge instead of driving around looking for a close parking space and the exercise is free, available every day.)

Think about it from a woman’s perspective, she carries a purse that weighs 8 lbs, a baby, the diaper bag, 2 bags of groceries and the files you requested, plus your dry cleaning and a 10mm in a shoulder holster with a second mag under her free arm. What’s a flashlight weigh anyhow? :stuck_out_tongue: (And wears heels while toting all that!) (with a boa constrictor around her chest no less… the bra.)

Got a friend's son who hikes the dessert, sometimes days at a time. To him, every ounce counts. Water vs. flashlight trade-offs, etc. He pays big $$$ to get gear lightweight. All depends. For me, I'm entering parks before dusk because technically they close at dusk. Traffic zipping by... I don't want to make it obvious. It helps if a light fits in the pocket. Actually the BLF Q8 in the back pocket worked out well for that park. Maybe 2 L6's - they'd look like dumbbells, for the exercise .

So the problem isn’t the light itself, it’s the need to be inconspicuous in order to break the law? I see… given that you KNOW the park is closed, perhaps you should rethink that.

Sparing ya the rest of it…

What battery 26650?
I must buy another, my Klarus 5000mA not run here, I think is for lengh? 71.2 mm

Tried Liitokala 26650 and Basen IMR , amd they work fine.

71.2 mm is huge. Same here - LK's and BASEN's is all I tried. I'd think all unprotected would fit. Didn't try my KK 26700's.

Hello.

As the resistor mod using an R050 gets similar readings than Manker U21, and I fear it may be dangerous for the driver, I made this mod using an R100 from Fasttech.

These are my readings

Modes:
1- ———-
2- 0,20A
3- 0,62A
4- 1,34A
5- 3,85A.

I ran it in turbo mode in periods of five minutes until the voltage dropped to 3,5V

4,14V. 3,85A. 144.400 Cd.
4,01V. 5,19A. 146.160 Cd.
3,90V. 4,29A. 143.600 Cd.
3,69V. 4,47A. 145.080 Cd.
3,56V. 4,60A. 143.280 Cd.

In five minutes it gets very hot.

At 3,5V turbo mode is not maintained and the flashlight only has four modes.

I’m running one of my UT02’s with 3 R10’s stacked for 4.8amps at the tail cap, no idea what it is at the LED and it’s running fine so far, driver seems to be alright, but only time will tell!

The other UT02 I modded with a MT-G2 on a 26mm Noctigon and a FETDDLDO standard E-switch firmware 6 level driver, and got rid of the stock switch and swapped in a Courui D01 switch using the stock boot and plastic cover, making the click more robust and sharper feeling to me. Had to make a copper driver adapter for the 26mm to 30mm driver pocket out of copper crush washer rings, which spaced the battery tube out, and allowed more room for the (2) 26350’s

At only 6amps at the tail cap, this light handles the heat very well, the beam is super nice, creamy/rosy tint, plenty of beautiful flood and decent throw, lights up the neighbors garage across the street like daylight even thru the street lights glare. In total darkness this thing ought to rock!

I think the mtg2 is one of the most photogenic leds out there:)

My UT02 I received yesterday and it is great.
As it turned out, the flashlight, as in U21 are undocumented modes. To access them: from off hold down the button for 10 seconds. After 10 sec. flashlight blink 2 times for maximum brightness
and turns off. Now we are in a hidden level. In this state, the group Strobe / Breath Flash / SOS added Turbo + (no step down) / Beacon / Constantly glowing blue button.
What’s the last mode I do not understand (solid blue light). With a discharged battery changes color from blue to purple. (Battery indicator?)
Turbo + no step-down: working at room temperature until automatically shuts down due to overheating (when the head temperature reaches 50 ° C).
Also, if the mode is enabled Beacon and we will do two-click a flashlight off. After one click enters in which you can adjust the brightness in Low mode.
It has 21 degrees of brightness and adjusts from minimum to maximum (each click changes the brightness). To store the desired light intensity, a flashlight must be switched off.
Visually Low mode, you can do an equal brightness mode Med1, ie from 15 to 100 lumens.
To exit the hidden group acts the same way: when the light is turned off hold down the button for 10 seconds.
After 10 sec. blink 1 time for maximum brightness and turn off which means dropping the hidden level.
Have fun!

Thanks aslpg for finding out new future and it’s great that you can get low low or 50 lumens if you wish.
Just tried it and it’s working :+1:

Hi, what is the consumption in hidden mode? Greetings and happy new year !!!
