KD (kaidomain): Deals and new products thread

The uniqe difference betwen Carclo and Kaidomain lenses are the diameter of their legs inserts (the part which fits inside MCPCB holes).

KD´s are bigger.
Kaidomain-s optics doesn’t fit into Noctigon 3XP MCPCB because 3XP is designet do accept Carclo optics ( narrower “legs”) so I widened leg-openings with Dremel in order to fit “unsuitable” optics
I haven’t measured scientifically, but it seems the KD triple optic has more losses than a comparable Carclo. That’s just what my eyes tell me.

Can I get this KD optics as replacement? In my heavily used EDCs I need more than one optic a year.

Maybe put a glass lens over it?

Thought about this, but the additional lens eats light and gets scratched too. Carclos are cheap.

IDK about light losses, i was talking about diemsions, but that is also something to keep in mind.

Lens is at KD as a replacement.

Ceiling bounce comparison between KD and Carclo.

Does KD ship 18650 to the Philippines?

Hi

Ultrafire UF-3000

This slipped by me . Reminds me of the old Ultrafire UF-5C lights that I think quite a bit of!

This one draws my attention:

But how will the PWM be?

Not sure aboute PWM but paralistic drain would be high with that switch

BTW nice looking …

Possibly, yes…
You can put a main switch in the tail though.

Yeah, i thought so too.
But i don’t feel like gambling on the PWM.
Visible PWM is a deal breaker for me.

Thats. So. Awesome.

Guys, forgive my ignorence, but Simon's listing for the S2+ host sais "LED plate: Diameter 16mm".

Since the Triple Nichia 219C is 20mm, how can you fit it for the mod?

you would use a spacer. copper from MTN or kiriba-ru. Or self-built (filling a copper pipe or turn a rod on a lathe)
you can also use spare copper sheets, coins, metal pieces, …

If you value your time I’d recommend buying a spacer. It is easier and gives you peace of mind since they will fit. If you are quite handy on your workbench and don’t mind spending some time: You’d build a few spacers. I have made quite a few with coins, solder paste and it was easier than expected. Copper parts would be preferred though.

Thanks MILSPEC!
For sure I’m gonna prefer a ready spacer, as I don’t have a suitable workbench (most probably not even the ability for a DIY spacer  ).
Do you know where can I see a photo that shows how such a spacer (16 to 20mm) shows in a Convoy S2+ (or any other flashlight) ?

Note: Different lights require different spacers. S2 vs S2+ vs others and so on. With the height of the spacer you can also vary the overall inside dimensions of your light.

There are tons of triple builds around, with good build reviews and pictures. Especially here and on CPF.

I am building two myself atm but need to find more time next week to finish it off.

edit: Apologies for so much off topic all, but to stay on topic - the kaidomain triple 219C set is still on sale.

The 20mm triple optics I’ve received from KD are made by BICOM and identical to optics I’ve found in Eagletac/Sportac lights. IMO, the BICOM optic is closest to the Carclo 10511. The BICOM puts slightly more light into the periphery of the beam. I’ve also drilled out Noctigon boards to accommodate them. The legs are also longer so you could drill holes in the spacer to keep the MCPBC from twisting; or just file them down which I have chosen to do.
