I’m not sure how well a dome-less emitter goes together with the new type of rough phosfor, you may not have the same die luminance (=throw) upgrade that the XP-L Hi has over the XP-L.
looks like the phosphor is a continuous blanket completely covering the quad die. I would expect no black cross, but probably back to the evil tint shift we had just started to get away from.
This looks interesting… I hope they are not only optimized for optics use.
The new Olight s10R III uses it, efficiency is about the same or maybe a tad higher than the XM-L2 judging by the amp draw but there is massive tint shift betweeen hotspot and spill. (Very cool tint at the edge)
