Cree XHP50.2

hmm good pic Djozz, guess I’ll have to wait and see.

It seems the all of the 5050 footprint LEDs have gone out of fashion.

Made me chuckle

Edit: Maybe they come with windage and elevation adjustments?

Not quite, there is the new Luminus SST-40, essentially a clone of the XM-L2.

Interesting datasheet, anyone tried them out or seen them for sale?

This looks interesting… I hope they are not only optimized for optics use.

The new Olight s10R III uses it, efficiency is about the same or maybe a tad higher than the XM-L2 judging by the amp draw but there is massive tint shift betweeen hotspot and spill. (Very cool tint at the edge)

Use tintshift for elevation adjustment.

I’d rather see them produce a 6V only version using the same process as the MTG-2 or XPG-3 foregoing the 12V option in favor of a clean beam. I for one appreciate the XM footprint since I mostly work with small to medium size hosts.

Thanks mate!

I think this is better for general use. Dedoming will be no good any more.

The normal XHP50 could be dedomed easily? Last I heard all the XHP series was a royal pain to dedome and thats why most sliced the done.

Slicing seems to work nicely though

Any one else notice the OP dome.

And that the dome seems to have phosphor mixed into it.

Cheers David

Anybody seen these for sale yet? I have a light ready for one of these, just waiting for them to come to market. I want to test it and see how it compares to the old XHP50 and XHP70.

Yes on Kaidomain.com.

Thanks for the heads up!

Wow, they are more expensive then I had hoped / figured they would be.

At least they have some good tints, too bad they are not high CRI as well. I have a sale pending, I might grab one after that although not sure I will want to risk it by running a test on it since I have a light I want to use it in.

Description says “high CRI” and i just ordered a 5A one.

Hmm… 3A is sold out already…

The part number in the picture shows a “B” in the CRI section which is 70CRI. 80cri is H and 90cri is U.

I think the description is just a copy and paste from cree which shows that these leds are offered in high CRI.

O, crap… :frowning:
I should have known….
I just went by the description.
Now i want to cancel the order actually…
