I just got one from Richard at Mountain two days back and it’s a nice little thrower. XP-L HI V2 1A and 2.8A board with GuppyDrv!
It’s my sixth Convoy and for <$24 before shipping, it’s cheap enough to buy a couple/few and gift them, or just stash them away, while not spending a lot of scratch.
Good review to the OP. I do like the naked finish.
The bar has been raised, First X-ray shot and what a killer Beam shot!
That’s like poster material there with the sky and all.
Check out the clouds, it looks like a guys face on the left hand side. He is admiring your light sabre
Very nice review.
In answer to the question about the x-ray image. I have access to a medical digital x-ray unit.
I intend on x-raying all lights I review in future, unless the manufacturer says no. I’ll also create a thread with x-rays of my existing lights at some point.
x-ray of all the lights you have access of? showoff!
seen a few of these (not lights) in my younger years as my father used industrial x-ray to test how good welded joints are. with lights, it’s a pretty good indicator of material quality and workmanship.
There are inaccuracies on GearBest’s product information, which I’ve informed them of. Will double check source of truth for emitter bin. GearBest are selling the exact same specification as Convoy on Aliexpress.
Ahh yeah okay, I figured it’d be something like that. I ordered CW as well as that’s my preference with throwers, NW for flooders.
I didn’t notice your location, then after looking at your photos a bit more I’m thinking to myself “that looks like Brissy in the background”!!! I’ll be moving up there myself next year, sick of Sydney.
Brisvegas is a nice city to live in, though Queensland is a bit backwards in many respects. Good luck with the move! My outdoor beam shots are taken in Banks Street Reserve in Alderley.

thanks for the review and that beam shot photo is very impressive
Now about the Xray ……I hope images of your flashlights don’t accidentally appear up on that light board thingy when the doctor is showing the patient what the stomach photos came back with.
