HaikeLite MT03 & MT07 Group-buy Closed

It may be the springs. My cells have some marks after a few swaps too.

The 2s2p is on the left, 4S on right.

My threads are absolutely marred up from presumably dull machining tools. Poor QC.

This is after a thorough cleaning. They were perhaps the dirtiest threads I’ve come across. The MT07 threads had small particles of dirt/metal that were grinding upon initial opening.

Also I got around to testing my freshly charged 30Q set.
4.197v off the charger.
MT03 2S2P NW 7285lm at 30sec.
MT07 4S NW 3610lm at 30sec.

So a fair bump for the MT03. There’s an odd drop in those initial 30 seconds. It slowly decreases from about 7700lm at turn on down to 7630lm at 20sec, but suddenly drops about 350lm around 24 seconds.

awww this is depressing news :frowning:

im putting lots of hope in this new light

Received both 03 & 07 4S lights today, bought 8 batteries with order and got 4 so doing pretty good,
Thanks Pok Tom E for heads up on the screw, mine is missing also, thread anodizing is bad on cap ends of both the 03 and 07 similar to pics above, pos and neg soldering jobs are not the best, perhaps the worst I’ve ever seen on a new high dollar lights, hum…
Batteries arrived at 3.44v, so it will take 3 hrs to charge and I will have to test lights tomorrow, thanks all for the heads up,
I have to say I am a bit surprised by some of what I am seeing and reading with these lights, sure am glad there is the BLF.

I saw this on everydaysurvivalgear’s video as well… This light was not going to make me happy…

Well Haikelite did ask me if I could tell what color temperature exactly my MT07 NW was… Maybe they thought it was an emitter. I don’t really know, but its seems the first three people capable of measuring the NW are getting all around the same numbers. It seems like this does not affect the MT03. I am not sure if the NW version of those is using the same emitters.

I received mine in pristine condition hardly any dust. i know how hard it can be to maintain cleanliness in factory conditions so :+1: . The light is also amazingly bright , hot and throws like hell ,as far as many of my super throwers. Im overall happy with this GB.

However , i specifically asked for a SMOOTH reflector many times but got a op orange peel one .

HAIKElight Alva , How , can i get a smooth reflector ? In the future ,i meant to mod this light into a thrower like all my other lights.

SMO doesn't exist. Did HL say they would put one in your light?

Yea i asked for it and Alva said they have it for me. i also stated it in my paypal order.

Oh boy. Think they talked bout it, but I didn't think it was available then.

As far as the threads, yea, mine has some issues too, pic from the review:

Dunno, I think I noticed is at the time but didn't think much of it. I always apply Nyogel on the threads anyway, and they felt smooth, even though bare aluminum is showing on the outer 1 or 2 threads, just in isolated spots as well.

I just checked the other end (driver side) and those threads on mine are about perfect - can't notice any bare aluminum there. Mine also has double O-rings on each end.

I'd much prefer a smooth reflector. Are they available for purchase separately?

mmmm… Doesn’t a smooth reflector + XHP 70 = annoying crosshair beam pattern??

IMO someone and I prefer SMO reflector and XHP35 Hi for this big mass alu buffalo.

That sounds like a pretty sweet combo.

That is my understanding too, but I find lumen and throw loss more annoying. Also, I imagine these separated die LED's to eventually be replaced by other types of big emitters as tech marches on.

Im holding my horses on modding it to xhp35hi since there might be a xhp70 hi eventually . The current brightness is unprecedented for a single led production light at this price ……until later when boredom wins patience….maybe :smiling_imp:

How ugly! Looks very worn!

I am very disappointed with the QC
I hope I have no problems

Received both lights today. Initial impression is they look nice, anodizing looks great, threads are cut nice with good close tolerances but there is some anodizing missing. Ordered 8 batteries and received 4.

Got 3 of them  haven’t got around to test all of them yet but one of the MT03 button stuck… can’t change the mode, it’s just blinks non stop, the only way to stop it is to take the batteries out :person_facepalming:

My MT03 switch cover is not good. It’s like the rubber switch cover is made of thick jello; it makes for difficult successive button presses like turbo activation. There’s a lot of squish before activation and there’s a slight delay for the rubber to rebound off the switch. The MT07 switch covers are smaller, and much more solid and tactile.

Initially my MT07 would not function, but after taking the tailcap off a few times it started working. I haven’t been able to recreate the issue.

My 03 only has 4 modes, the 2nd and 3rd mode are the same, it will flicker between 2 and 3 but the output stays the same. No way to test the actual lumens so not sure on output. Of the two I prefer the 07.

Many problems

I have not received it yet and I regret having bought it
