Hello,everyone.I want to say something......

one spammer per week is okay. the BLF members can deal with it with a big portion of humor. it's part of our fun (BLF is funnier than cpf hehe) i guess.

you know, on cpf kreisler gets banned (and others: speedsix, ..). and here *we* can bash suspicious new forum members. hilarious comments in such threads.

luv it

I LIKE Spam. I like it fried in lots of butter!

Spam & Taters makes a great meal!

But I don't like Spammers, they ruin spam for me.

Hey american, youwannabuyniceyflashlight?worksgood1,000,000lumensguaranteed!

Hi Sally

I'm glad to have certain sellers here on BLF. Some of the best Chinese vendors with the newest products and the best prices post here on BLF. And some of the inevitable problems with orders are often resolved better here on BLF than through the seller's own ticket system. So it's definitely not a good idea to ban all commercial posts. They simply have to post in the Commercial Sellers' Spot, and not abuse the privilege. Any commercial posts outside of the correct forum (ahem, like this one) are spam.

Agreed. Some times it's a gray line whether it's spam or not, but it's a line nonetheless and it would be good to acknowledge that, rather than miss out on a good deal or improved customer relations.

Down with SPAM. I feel they bring the forum down by preying on fellow members. They have no business being on here. They should have to prove themselves first, before being able to link and sell.

Any Pic's?

We all make mistakes, you may be that spammer, or not.. just as long as you guys learned from your mistakes, stop spamming and post in the right place

Then you're always welcome to BLF!

Sally, I heard that you have been given a second chance to represent your company and I hope you do so responsibly. So... Welcome back to BLF. I hope you have just as much fun here as I do.

Here's a free tip for everyone on how to gain respect around here: Don't even think about lying to us. We are very good at detecting lies, shills, spam, and all other forms of bullplop.

Theoretically this sounds good. But you have to keep in mind that one of the principle reasons for BLF's creation was the difficulty of posting links to products on CPF. I as a new user wanted to ask a legitimate question about a product on Kaidomain or something, but I risked having my account suspended or at the very least my links would be deleted. Everyone resorted to ridiculous measures like "PocketFire AB-12 flashlight @ KD search for the word 'pocket' and then click the 5th product from the bottom of the results". So BLF was founded largely to make it easier to link to an interesting product.

If you see an obvious spammer, please shoot him down. Thanks to everyone for their help in this regard.

Everyone has a valid point of course but who are “the good Chinese sellers with good prices and the best products that post on here”?
Some that post on here are from companies with an “Avoid” label. I get that someone like Summer has turned out to be a help to those who order from DD for example but again DD has an “Avoid” label.
Who are the best Chinese companies with the best products? I guess that’s Rick? Anyone else?
I don’t know if it can be easily done but how about considering making the commercial forum posts not automatically show up in the the “recent posts thread”?
That way commercial posts (if sellers actually just posted there) would not junk up the daily “recent posts” thread. Just an idea.

Yes, this is easy to do. I would make the change if most users prefer it. But I think the real annoyance is not the number of posts in the Commercial Sellers' Spot (surprisingly few sellers use it), but rather the fools who post blatant spam in the General section or in Introductions or Off-topic chatter.

True. I was just thinking that if everyone started posting where they should this still wouldn’t reduce the number of those posts so taking the commercial forum out of the recent post feed would hide the issue.
Those that care about what the commercial sellers have to say could go to that forum and the rest of us wouldn’t have to see that.
Of course the best solution would be if each member could somehow chose what forums to monitor. There’s not really a way to personalize the threads currently. With the increasing size of BLF this would be a nice feature to have.
I don’t personally use the feature called “my watched posts” however I would use a feature called “my watched sub-forums”.

The problem I have with spammers is they piss me off and I start spraying bullets all over the place and accidentally shoot myself in the butt and my friends have to duck for cover/end up getting shot. So, I'll leave the clever, biting remarks to those with better aim.
