Each additional CCT requires 100 pcs minimum order quantity. So….you guys better decide the CCT you want to get.
And FYI, 9080 will be a tad more expensive than 9050. Nichia also make it in lesser quantity, will have to check it first.
That would be good!
The 219B V1 has the same low Vf as the 219C as tested by djozz, so not much difference between the two (219B V1 vs 219C).
If the bins available for the 219B V1 are higher than the 219C then by all means go for the 219B V1!
NVSW219B-V1 9080 max bin is D180 (sw27); D200 (sw30-sw35); D220 (sw40-sw45)
NVSW219C-E 9050 max. bin is D220 (sm27x-sm35x); D240 (sm35x-sm40x)
So, no 219B 9080 has higher bin than 219C 9050. And 219B 9080 only available in warm white (2700K – 4500K), coller CCT’s are max at 9050.
This narrows down the CCT options to only sw27 – sw45. I believe more people are likely to choose either sw40 and sw45.
The leds of TheOnlyDoc, chouster, BoringlyUnique, MikeC, badhakker, prisma, Mitko, ZFL-M60, Jerommel, cula, maukka and X3 were shipped last wednesday or thursday December 21/22.
I assume that delivery times will suffer from being in the middle of the christmas mail, but I hope that everything will arrive in good order.
I would appreciate it if you report in this thread or via PM when the leds arrive.
Nice Jerommel, I hope the other packages will arrive well too.
Had time to do a quick mod with the 219C SM353 and I like it an awful lot, my new favorite led. Like the 5000K 219C that has been around for a while, it behaves well in reflector lights.
Could not find the right white balance, the light is warm-ish but not this warm.
That looks good clemence, but my (Xperia Z3 compact) phone camera does not let me set a colour temperature for the white balance, just a random choice of 5 standard settings, plus an ‘auto’ setting that sometimes does the right thing but more often not.
Oh wow, that does look nice. I skipped the 353 because I thought it would be too close to the 403 to be worth fooling with, so I went with the 305 instead. Maybe I was wrong. Next time…

I’m still using Xperia V. It’s an ancient phone before the Z era. Often when I don’t have my Olympus EM5 in hand I use camera FV-5 application. Much better control than the sluggish OEM camera application. Sent you the link via Whatsapp
Actually… I would be interested too, depending on price and available colour temperatures.

Clemence, maybe open a separate ‘feeler-topic’ for 219B V1 9080?

I vote for R9080 sw45k. Would be happy with both NVSW or NCSW.
sw45k is special, because it’s only available with the R9080 versions.
I am interested in 9080 sw40 , but sw45 is good too.
R9080 sw40 & sw45
I have interest for R9080 sw40

I’d buy some 219b v1 r9080 in either sw40 or sw45.
Mee too

My vote goes for the 219B V1 sw40 R9080
I’d be in for 4, and crossing my fingers for D220 bin!
I wonder if the R9080 are just Macadams Step 7 but hitting red Cree area binning (4A, 4D, 5A1, 5A4, 5D1, 5D4)
Lol, maybe you can just ask Nichia for some Cree bins (4A, 4D, 5A1, 5A4, 5D1, 5D4) in Macadams step 7 R9050?
I forgot to mention:

Yes, will post when they have arrived.

Enter the sw45k bin, the only bin hitting “red Cree area binning”…
That’s R9080 B-V1 vs Cree binning
I’d be in for some sw40 as well though. But I find the sw45k a lot more tempting.
Thank you chouster, I wasn’t aware of that graph.
Looks like 219B V1 R9080 sw45 is much better than the rest as its shifted down and pretty much guarantees best tint.
Ok, I will change my vote to sw45!
I think I prefer sw40
Where did you get this information?
Chouster overlayed Cree’s binning chart over Nichia’s. Just like what he did for us in the OP.
