imaplent dt70 and dt35, why no one mention anything here

I think you don’t see much interest is the ridiculous pricing. I can have a Thrunite TN42 for far less. Or an acebeam K70 or several other K series for less $$.
The 8k lumen numbers combined with over 250,000 candlepower is enticing but the pricetag…arrggg

Well, Imalent don’t have the same reputation as Thrunite. With a discount, and taking into account that the lights come with four high drain batteries, the lights become quite interesting. I’m more worried about build quality.

Right! That is what I’m getting at, I can have a light from a company with an established reputation of good or excellent quality for less money. Doesn’t seem like it would be worth the risk to Shell out $250 on a flashlight from the maker that is not established

True. I like Thrunite very much, but they are currently not offering the type of lights like the DT70 or DT35. Nitecore does, however they are abusing their position as an established brand and charge $400 for the TM28… Totally ugh that is. The Imalents have USB charging and oled display, which I like very much… So they do have my attention…a lot…

Yep I’m much the same, like the look of the imalent dt70, but not at the price it is.
ive got the first version of the imalent ddt40 had it since it first came out, use it most days and it’s pretty much my go to light, well thought out and very well constructed and with in torch charging that works, hopefully the dt70 will be as good or better, just waiting for a review or two to come out before I consider it.
Made that mistake of not waiting for the reviews before I bought the DN11, good torch but the touch button doesn’t work as well as it does on the ddt40,especially with gloves, but still good value for the price I paid

And I certainly haven’t forgotten the HR20 drama: a lot of samples with flickering issues, and things falling apart. Terrible wiring and build quality… You just don’t know what to get…

O yes, I’d forgotten about the HR20 - don’t know how, I bought 3 of them -
Was expecting good things after my experience with the ddt40, but they were a bit of a let down, to say the least.
I know we were pre warned they were new and untested, but even so.
Hopefully imalent will redeem themselves with these latest models, as they can make quality stuff with inovative features

Never understood that statement. All groupbuys of new lights involve new lights we don’t know how it’s going to perform… Or was it a special batch or something? I thought it was the actual production version but I could be wrong…

With the discount the price drop alot!

I cannot disagree with quality of thrunite, in my opinion is the most top brand but the output of dt35 is stunning

That quality issue affects other light of imalent?

Certainly not all, from my limited experience of owning 5, as I said my imalent ddt40 is a great light, I’ve got probably 150 lights from various manufacturers and that is one of my most used lights, I’ve bashed it, dropped it used it underground, had it caked in mud and water and it’s carried on working perfectly, would have no hesitation in recommending it, even the holster was very well made.
The DN11 was ok quality wise, but the touch button could have been better as it’s very hit and miss, especially with gloves on.
The 3 imalent hr20 though, I was really disappointed with, as hIKARInoob said, they had problems bad wiring, bits falling of etc etc, they didn’t even get USB correctly printed, and for me the worst bit was they were ment to be ipx8 rated, mine were no more waterproof than the titanic was unsinkable.
What’s the point of a headtorch that you can’t use outside in the rain.
It probably won’t put me off buying more imalent stuff, - I’m looking at getting the dt70 - but I’ll be sure to wait until there are a good few reviews on here before I buy in future

MASSIVE review of the Imalent DT70
a load of pics, beamshots and teardown!

LEDs have domes cut off.

yes

i think first manufacturer to shave LEDs ;)

I really want to see how dt35 performs, the dt70 seems great, but I think that not so useful because the small amount of mass and cooling fins :frowning:

Don’t know why they need to shave their leGs……… maybe they look sexier with more aerodynamics in use? :stuck_out_tongue: :person_facepalming:

Curious about the lumen output on turbo; on the pictures the output doesn´t seem in the 16000 lumen range!! …

A german reviewer rated it at 13000 lumens. Not bad at all. I just wish they would stop overrating their lumens

There is a new video on the DT70 from WeAllJuggleKnives. It seems to be hard to find at the moment. It was a good review, but did not get too technical. IDK, maybe Imalent told him to not publish it yet, so he took it down? I’ll post a link if I can find it again.

Lumen is quite difficult to measure, unlike lux.
