Mini review of Brinyte B58U XP-L V3 HI

Recently I started a group buy for this light which you can find here for the fantastic price of just 19.49$ or directly on GB site

This will be just a little basic info and photos, without detailed review, all other about dimensions, weight etc, you can find on GB or official sellers website.

It came in big cardboard box very well protected and insured from the damage.

In the box, there is a lamp with the lanyard and some simple and basic istructions on small paper.

Quality of production is extraordinary, really I suppose like all other Brinyte products, I have couple of them and all are perfect, without any damage and deficiency, perfectly shaped and gives the appearance of much more expensive light.

The LED is perfectly centered, and the lens is AR.

As for the battery regarding it of course use one 18650, but in my opinion this lamps is designed for unprotected cells, also an unprotected cell is little bit rigid to screw up and a protected is a very hard, so for protected cell or it need to be smaller spring or it need to be a longer tube where is 18650 battery located, but this lamp have LVP protection so I guess that is not problem for most people.

This tail cap threads and o-ring are well lubbed, but all other are not lubed, so this is the only part of the lamp where lubricant is used, all other parts are dry.

Important thing is that this switch is forward clicky.

Body in parts.

And head.
Reflector is SMO and perfectly shiny without any problem and damage.

LED and driver location, don’t know how hard it to remove driver because of the ring below it will remain secret untill someone decides to open the pill.

As you can see it is very very similar to Unique Fire HS-802.

And with some other lights.

So like all other lights it have some defects and disadvantages but for this price of 20$ it is definitely a lamp that you must have.
I’m sorry that I can not post a beamshots that you can see what is about, I can just transmitted to you what I saw. In comparison with lights that can be compared with B58U, like are Convoy C8, KD C8, KD C12, Unique fire HS-802, Ultra Fire C12, so in that price range and category I can only tell to you that this B58U will out throw all of them, especially to people who uses optics while hunting for example, because this B58U have a very very deep reflector and much smaller central dot of the light compared to other lights, this UF HS-802 have same size point but I don’t know what is about it just not as bright like B58U.

Other lights from the picture use KD C8 HI V3, Convoy HI V2, UF HS-802 HI V3 and my that are not on the pic KD C12 HI V3, Ultra Fire C12 HI V2.

For this light are also available filters in red and green colour which you can see HERE.

Just to add a little info, the driver is a 105c piggybacked on a contact board that measures 21.09mm. The contact board has a little adhesive, but is mostly friction fit. If you push a pick or nail through the LED wire holes, the board pops right out.

As an aside, the 105c is flashed with 5modes with no stars soldered. I assume it can be reflashed to another f/w, but have no provisions to try it.

Hope that helps others

Does it beat all other lights in output also? Or just throw? Does it have mode memory?

Yes it have mm of course. Hmm don’t know how to describe that but on 150m other c8 like KD c8 have much more wider beam so you will get better visibility but b58u is much much more narrowed so that small spot can reach further especially if you look try binoculars, so it is hard to tell about output, b58u with U4 is rated on 900 lumens, and HI V3 I don’t know.

How hard is it to remove that driver ring and what size driver does it use? I’m interested in one if I can mod it.

Don’t know, I have not opened it, sorry.
