Thrunite TN 42 ,a new record in Throw

I dunno how you guys got those 700k , i bought one when it was released( SN 007), the second one arrived before a week or so( SN 066) so i presume they aint that popular

Both cool white, both topped at about 640k( at 5m), increasing the measuring distance lowers the intensity

With the same meter i got 160k from m2x and 245-250k from M3X, 120k from TM16 and 110k from Fenix TK75 so i count it as accurate as a swiss watch
Both are about 2k lumens

Its not that 50k are that important yet…

That torch is crying out loud for XPL at 6.5 amps …the beam is quite narrow anyway

How does the TN42 compare to the Firefox4 ?
which 1 throws further? Brighter?

cheers

One member here before tested his FF4 and got about 435kcd I think…at more than 6,000 lumens on a much wider hotspot, with glorious tint.

I used to have an FF4 before and though I don’t have a TN42, they are practically two different lights.

Thanks for the reply, I have a FF4 but I need more lights for cyclone chasing, I was thinking bout this TN42 or the Bronte BT41
I was hoping LED technology has advanced enough to at least equal or better the FF4.

cheers

I’ve got it today.#283.

Having now the TN42,I like more my K70,so I decided not to sell it.I like the “richness” of its beam, which gives a sense of more light.I like the changing mode ring, because I put it to strobe permanently and pressing the button once,I have rich strobe light,if there is need for self defense.

I have been thinking about getting the TN42. Does it throw a lot more than the K70, or a little bit more throw, or how much more throw?

I put the light on the…bench against a luxmeter at 4,7m,I used 4 Samsung 30Q batteries fully charged in a LiitoKala 500 charger, and the result is veeery good. 722,000Cd.
I am impressed.

I have to change my opinion about this light compared to a K70,because,if there is a very far target, the TN42’s beam cuts the darkness like a sword, reminding me my blue laser pointer of 1.6W.

Nice Theodore!!! :+1:
I thought you would be pleased….

Yes,I am ,it shines.

Oh yeah…. that it does. :+1: …

So the K70 go’s back into the BOX now right?

I have all my lights, except the TN42,(which is on a table),in two drawers, which are now full of them.I will put on the same table, the new guy,(a TN40S),which is arriving in about a week.
Santa, was generous to me this year .

I saw a quote recently that struck home… “I’ve almost got all my Christmas shopping done, now I just have to buy everyone one else’s.”

You might want to check HERE also. :+1:

So has anyone attempted to mod this thing with a different led yet??

Loving mine, not gonna mess with it.

Received my TN42 couple days ago, on my test I got ( 717,500kcd 1,694M at 5M ) with 30Q button top and ( 682,830kcd ) 1,652M at 9M with 30Q button top.

NW TN42 in med fog. This show the beam pretty well but it’s hard to see how far it really goes.

That is a nice video ‘lawallac’!!! Thank you or sharing it……… :+1:
I did that the other night (no video) but since I was holding the light I did not get as good a view as I can see on your video.

This thing looks like a mile long light saber doesn’t it??? I love playing with my TN42…
