[Ended]Groupbuy : Utorch UT01 (XP-L , AA & 14500 battery , e-switch etc)

I broke down & ordered a second one before the group buy ends tomorrow. First one is NW, so went with CW this time.

Are these switch issues ‘deal breakers’ in terms f ever reliably using these lights…or are there fixes/replacement parts out there to make them work reliably no matter how ’frankenstein(ish) they might appear afterwards.

For all the modding feats accomplished here on a daily basis; it would seem that fixing switches or swapping out for a more reliable switch would be ‘old hat’ by now even if the solution involved crazy glue and Gorilla tape(?)…

I want one - I hope I’m not too late!

It seems the code expired …

So far the 2nd light I’ve been playing with today has worked fine with no switch issues and I’ve been playing with it intermittently all day. No idea what’s wrong with the first one.

Here all values options in estimated lumens for the UT01 (with the hidden modes), that I have meassured with Eneloop NiMH AA:

I have programed my unit for: 0.5 lum - 55 lum. - 200 lum. - 425 lum.

Which ones are the defaults?

In my unit al least, the default:
4-55-200-425 lumens (estimated lumens with my Trevi-Box)
I only make change in the low mode, I prefer a sublumen for night use.

Got mine (CW+NW) a couple of days ago. No switch issues.

I really like the UI.

What I like most is that you can always have low mode with short klick from off but still have the memorized mode (mid, high or turbo) with a long klick from off even when you turned off from low with a long klick.

The UT01, even when running on Eneloop AA, is amazing bright and it does a pretty good job compared to my OTR M1 being more spotty.

Originally I planed to run it on a UR14500p for best brightness but meanwhile I decided to stay with Eneloop AA for normal use around the house.

Yep, I programmed the same sub levels.

Very nice to have this “hidden mode” as my Zebralight SC62w and SC600w II L2 have as well. Forgot M**r U11.

What a disgusting nice flashlight ! :+1:

Opened mine up. But in an AA battery the correct way.

DOA.

No battery works. Totally dead.

chanamasala please open a ticket on gearbest .

Did you tried a flat top 14500 ?

UR14500p which is flat top works fine.

My XTAR 14500 is a little flat. ebest 14500 no. Nothing with either. Energizer lithium nothing. NIMH nothing. Haven’t seen one wink of the light.

Xtar 14500 isn’t a flat top .

Try a battery with a top like this , if possible :

My UT01 arrived today what a great little flashlight, I ordered the NW tint and it’s very nice.

This and the UT02 groupbuy are some of my favorite this year, I think the quality and finish of Utorch is top notch for the price.

Thanks again :+1:

EDIT : Maybe even last year

> we should support original designers by NOT supporting blatant copycats.
I wish we even knew who the original designers are; they leave room for various companies to paint their names on the hardware.

It’s up on a ~$20 flash sale right now

My two came in today, (Finally!) what pleasant little lights! I got one of each tint, I think I prefer the 1A but more testing is probably in order. Both of them work with Eneloops straight outta the box with no fiddling. This will probably be my EDC on days when I’m not wearing cargo pants.

Now to check out how the memory mode works as well as programming the lowest Moon mode and see how 14500 compares to Eneloop.

Thanks.

I am very happy to have bought three, two neutral and one 1A. Think I will just stick with eneloops - plenty of output and much brighter than my Zebralight AA of a few years ago - who would think? However, if or when the the U01’s fail, the Zebra will be there in the drawer. Right now it is U01 for EDC.

thanks again, George

Cool thanks for that data.

Mine is programmed for .5 - 55 - 240 - 445

Killer little light, as well as the Manker E11, they are the same light outside of minor cosmetic differences
