Is the KD 26.5mm SMO R5 Reflector set suitable for XM-L T6/U2?

Has anyone tried using Kaidomain's SKU S010132 (26.5mm SMO CREE XPG R5 Reflector set) with a CREE XM-L U2 emitter on a 14mm star?

I have tried using the DX XR-E SMO reflector sets to make U2 P60 drop ins but find that even with a considerable standoff space between the reflector and base the focus and beam leave a lot to be desired. The best solution that I could come up with requires that I use the brass pill of either DX SKU 5937 or SKU 5955 and the reflector of the Manafont SKU 6047. This is a wasteful solution as I have to spend $2.76 for the DX SKU 5955 for the pill and springs and another $3 for the Manafont reflector.

I seem to recall having read a post here of a fellow member using the KD SKU S010132 to make his U2 P60 drop in and if my memory serves me right our fellow forumer said that even if that reflector set is meant to be used with an XP-G R5, it worked even better for the XM-L U2.

Could somebody clarify this for me? I need to make a couple of U2 P60 drop ins and would like to save some money without having to sacrifice the performance of my drop in.

Thanks in advance.

lyonn

I have used the OP XP-G P60 pill sets ... If it has the small XP-G emitter hole , then one simply enlarges to fit XM-L ..

I think the XP-G ones are just fine , Ive used XR-E and XP-G , and there is little difference , except I like the XP-G ones more as they can be fitted better [ but thats just me ]

Thanks for the info mate. I really appreciate it. I can no longer manage to work regularly at my office job since I had colon cancer and later developed COPD. I've been trying to supplement my income by making custom built lights and P60 drop ins since then.

As you can imagine I've had to make every single cent I earn count since I have to send my daughter to college. I really appreciate your kind gesture as it will help us a lot.

God bless you for that mate.
