help with batteries

Hello guys , i got my first diving light
it come with 4 18650 battery , 5000mah 3.7v
i want to buy spare battery , i google and a lot of company sell batteries , from you experience which one is good ?

Go to http://www.illumn.com/ or Mountain Electronics and pick and choose from there. Those cells you have are NOT 5000mAh and anything you buy from either of these sites will perform better. You can trust the mAh ratings of the cells advertised at these two sites.

Others can suggest trustworthy Chinese suppliers that ship to you.

Yes, and likely very poor quality cells. If my life depended on it (and depending on your dives it might), I certainly wouldn’t use those cells. Get some quality name-brand cells from a trustworthy supplier. And while you’re at it, make sure your light is legit too.

You will want to buy Panasonic, Sony, Sanyo, Samsung, LG batteries.

These Sanyos have the highest capacity available (real 3500mAh):

You will notice they never call them by the brand names though.
Those brands make those cells for battery packs and they don’t want you to use them outside a pack (like in flashlights).
For safety and legal reasons they prohibit or do not endorse selling them for use outside battery packs.
They should be handled with extra care, because there’s a lot of energy in those things.

thanks for your suggestion , another thing i saw on the web protected , should i buy that one or the usual one ?

the light i got is brand new product from this company base in USA , u can check them here …

thanks for your suggestion and advice , much appreciate

Hi,
the charger is good, the batteries I bet are cheap shit
and the torch itself looks odlly similar to the new apearing china-lights on Ebay, he is an example.

I say cheap shit because I never had any good luck with these lights…. the quality is just not thrust worthy, I`d rather spend a bit more on brinyte or archon or other brand, even beeing chinese you get quite a good quality for a relativelly good price still.

another question, could you send us a picture from the orings?

My recomendation, if the quality of the light seems right, get some brand 18650 PROTECTED cells, for example panasonic NCR18650B`s on gearbest are very cheap, like 5 bucks each…. and those are the genuine 3400mAh tested by myself
why protected? because once they are over-discharged the battery takes great harm, depending on the cells, but do that a few times and your battery is dead
and this lights usually don`t have any protection in them, so highly recomended!

here you see it with exactlly the same handle

There are things in life that you shouldn’t skimp on. IMO batteries are one of those things.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

ahmadaee, if you would spend a bit of time reading forum, you wouldn’t start this topic.
And, you wouldn’t by this torch with these batteries.

and, this is not suggestions - all the guys say is true with no doubt.

Come on guys, we are here to help each other not to criticize.

And let’s be honest, hasn’t any of us started by buying some UltraFires or other crap with the hope for those 10.000mAh 18650 to be real…. Yes even I.

The end of the story is, buy brand, 18650 over 3600mAh are unreal (for now). 26650 over 5500mAh are also unreal.

Also on light, if they sell a 1pc XML (max 1000lum led) torch saying it is 4000lumens… Come on, just skip it and buy something you believe in. Be smart, it pays off…

ahmadaee,

You may want to read some battery reviews - HKJ’s battery reviews will be very helpful. Here is the 18650 summary and the individual 18650 tests. You may also want to take a look at the Lithium-Ion Battery Safety thread.
