Small Fixed Blade Knife

The Enzo Necker 70 might be something to look at if you’re willing to make scales too. I picked up the flat ground blank for ~$25 and it seems very high quality. Similar profile to an Izula but slightly smaller, much thinner behind the edge.

Any opinions on this Sanrenmu Folding Knife?

I need a decent knife under 2.5 inches-

Hmmm… Sanrenmu 4059:
$7.91/8.31 shipped from FastTech:

Actually looks nice: tip down clip carry (I like), Nice scales, but not a liner/frame lock as I’m used to…

I have one. There is nothing wrong with it , I just don’t really like it. It seems to take up a lot of room in my picket for as small as it is. Don’t get the black blade one, the paint on the blade comes off easy

I carry this when I go to work and have to be under 2.5 inches

Thanks!!

This has been my best find for 2016. Just happen to see it at a local Tractor Supply for $6.99 if I remember correctly. I got it about a week before Christmas. I'm going to check this weekend and if they have anymore at that price I'm buying all of them. Guys at work have already offered me from 15 up to $30.00 for it.

It holds an edge very well, I keep it sharpened at a 25 degree angle that tends to keep the edge stronger.

It clips very nicely in my front pocket. So well I forget it's there.

Overall blade length is 2.59 inches and overall open length is 6.25 inches. A tiny bit more of you count the glass breaker at the end. Light weight super sharp when sharpened correctly and rugged. I take it to work every night. There is even a phone number and serial number to call in case you need to use the lifetime warranty.

I've been carrying this Schrade. Carry it every day. Handle is a bit short for big hands. Holds an edge reasonably well considering how i abuse it. The sheath works great. It rattles a bit but never comes loose. Bonus is it could be at your house tomorrow.

?

The link seemed to work for me, it’s the Schrader schf57. 16$, you really can’t go wrong with it.

Yeah the link worked fine for me as well. But ypu seem to be advertising it more so than speaking of your EDC knife. Even in the comment you just posted.

Hmmm and that was your 10th post.

Yep we are really all that stupid here... lol keep in mind this forum is primarily engineers, technicians, programmers. No need to go on.

Lol

There’s a lot of words that come to mind when I think of replying to this post…Instead I will continue to lurk in the shadows. Very welcoming community.

I've been wrong before and if I am then my apologies.

Look at it from a different point of view. I am sure you could easily see it as I have. But as I said of I'm wrong you have my apologies.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I have plenty of EDC knives and only recently has one of my friends gotten me into the light buzz. Currently carrying my Mk1, have and mk2 and an A6 on the way. I guarantee there will be an s2+ in my future as I have a surplus of 18650s from my old Makita bricked batteries.
I am into all things budget have some Chinese spyderco knock offs. Love my Ontario co’s and my Kershaw. Next pay I may pull the trigger on a mora companion HD. Can’t recommend what you don’t have though and by the sounds of it he’s looking for something more like the eldris.

Sorry to hijack, the Schrade is a mini prybar that does everything I need it to do installing HVAC equipment. Changing dipswitches on control boards to cutting open silicone tubes, prying metal work apart, removing foil tape, cutting up water heater boxes. I do have to touch up the blade at least every other day. But it sees hard use and like I said the metal doesn’t hold an edge as well as I’d like.

Good luck in your knife search.

No worries, like I said I have been wrong more than a few times in my life.

Once the light bug bites you that is pretty much that. And like all new members I do welcome you to BLF.

LOL funny you said that you use it as a pry bar, I have a friend at work that does the same thing with a very nice SOG and it drives me nuts. We have thousands of dollars in tools so I always ask him just to use something besides that knife. But that is his way and we make a pretty good team.

I own several Schrade knives, many of them I never allow to even be touched, then several I have had for many years along with my Old Timers.

That Snap On I just had to brag on even though it is a folding, so far I can't hurt the thing. Granted the price was a Christmas special so I really just got lucky. If I had known it was that good I would have asked for all they had in the store..

See you around the boards...

What sort of tasks are you planning to use it for?
I carry one of these for light cutting, letter opening, cleaning crap from under my finger nails, etc…

For $7, hard to beat. G10 scales, nice strong liner lock, pretty sharp and very compact. They make a non-locking version too. Lanyard hole takes 550 cord. 8Cr14MoV stainless. Decent Chinese steel. The blade is just over 2”.

Cons: Clip adjustable on one side only. Not suitable for heavy tasks (but what 2” knife is?).

Sadly, this is just over 2.5” (2.55”) http://www.gearbest.com/survival-emergency-gear/pp_202409.html Axis lock, nice high blade.

And too bad the “poor man’s Sebenza” is 2.65”. http://www.gearbest.com/survival-emergency-gear/pp_185413.html One of the best knives I own under $10. In fact, better than some knives I own that are over $30.

Oh, last one. I’ve been looking at this for a cheap carry. Blade under 2”, Strap cutter, gkass breaker, bottle opener, screwdriver, pocket clip, etc… AND an LED light:

Back to the original question. How about this Esee/Rat clone? 1/5 the cost of an Esee 3, 1/3 the cost of a RAT 3. http://www.gearbest.com/fixed-blades-knives/pp_235633.html
Check out Mhanlen’s nice video review in the link.

Budget is the key….$20? $50? 100? 800?

Also…location and use.
But since there hasn’t been any response from the OP….

Lets just go wild. lol.

I think that for a small, mid range production knife, the Spyderco Street Beat is very very hard to beat. It is above average at all tasks, has a good sheath, and decent enough steel.

Can Canadians EDC knives? Legally lol

I really like a lot of CRKT knives but shipping to Australia is a pain.

Probably more easily than you Aussies can!! Ha Ha.

My issue with CRKT is just that they use lower end steels and their heat treats are just ok.

I’m not a steel snob, I’ve got a lot of 1095 and D2 etc. But I’m just not thrilled by their steel, despite the fact that they have quite a few good looking knives for fairly good prices.
