Wouldn’t it be easier to simply drop a little solder on top of a flat top cell to circumvent that foam ring a little? Wouldn’t take much of a dome to make it get solid contact…

i have a couple of 26650’s sitting around….put me down for one please

That sounds like a fix worth trying. Thanks

Hello FREEME, is the code still available, surely would appreciate getting in on your deal…

I have almost every DQG light except the 26650 triple and first thing I’ve always done was to take out that foam piece and have never had any bad consequences from doing so.
Matter of fact I always wonder why put them there in the first place, even the little Spy and Hobi had them with the 10180 cells,

Could someone please tell me is this foam thing meant to be some sort of protection from something,
I’ve always wondered about that, and I can’t imagine if it’s for protection from say shorting on the driver perhaps if that’s possible, what a 10180 cell would look like while venting. :stuck_out_tongue:

One more quick question, are these lights designed by RicCn?
Always was under the assumption he was the designer DQG lights, probably wrong, but do love the DQG lights, a lot, especially the Spy, amazing bright little light.

If you unscrew the tail cap slightly you will have lockout, provided the foam is in place. It puts a spring action against the cell, pushing it away from the positive contact for just that purpose. It also helps to prevent rattle.

Alright that makes perfect sense, especially the slightly for lock out, now that explains to me that actually I might have been having issues and didn’t realize it, like having to back the head off quit a bit it seemed to shut the light off and also a lot of slack in the threads where that foam piece would also help to keep a bit of tension on the head, depending which light, Thanks Dale

I’ve been playing a bit with my gray NW those last nights.

Waow! What a little light that can! Pure flood though, but still reaches out quite a bit by shear power.

I can’t help but compare it to my first SRK clone, a Fandyfire UV-S5 triple XML rated 2000-2200 lumens. That was three years ago as i was just discovering the wonders of modern led flashlights (and only had half a dozen cheap ones). When i ignited this xml trio for the first time i was really blown away… And now, three years latter, i have the same output (even a bit more) in a package almost half the size with four modes instead of two. No hidden strobe though.

I struggled a bit with the UI. Single click, double, triple, long press… As someone mentioned, the operation manual is printed on the cardboard box. You have to look for it so small it is. Once used to it, it proves rather convenient. Will i remember all those clicks and long press tricks in a month? They should have printed a quick reminder on the light body!

I’m also worried about the switch resilience to so many actions. From the picts and comments it seems rather cheap and weak… It would be a shame if such a nice (and not so cheap) light would fail because of it.

Thanks for this deal Freeme!

Looking forward three years in the future… Same output in a 16340 format? :smiling_imp: :confounded:

Hi freeme,
How much is this thing after code?

Not sure why you would need to mechanically lock out this light. The button is low profile and needs a good amt of pressure to activate it. Even if turbo is activated, it knocks down to hi in 90 secs, and with a 0.012 mA parasitic drain, it would take about 38 years to drain a 4000 mAh cell.

Edit: I'm sure there's still a good reason for lockout to prevent activation. Suppose could still occur, just harder to get it to happen. Also gives you that piece of mind.

Man, I feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t received my light yet. I guess I’m just being impatient. :frowning:

I haven’t gotten mine yet eaither Dwantink. Ordered it on the 8th of Dec.

FREEME, You are so awesome, WOW That is a deal… Thank you for sending PM
This has to be the best deal all year,
Just looked back at my BG orders and this is actually a better price than what I paid for the DQG 4th Tiny 18650
If I hadn’t used a coupon with the 18650 the price would have been… Guess… ha ha  :+1: ,
Thanks again… G.

Got my grey nw today!! Man this thing really is tiny for a 26650 light, It’s awesome. Although, it is not as bright as my blf A6 in 5A tint is substantially brighter. So to verify, to get to turbo you just hold the button down?

When torch is off hold the button down to get go straight to turbo if its turned on then a quick double press will activate turbo.

Yes, hold down from OFF. Bright may have a couple meanings. If you mean distance - yes, the A6 probably out throws the Tiny 26650, but in total light output (i.e. lumens), the Tiny 26650 should easily beat the A6. At best, the A6 5A is maybe 1,300-1,500 lumens while the Tiny 26650 should be right there in the 2,500 range as spec'd and as I measured in Turbo mode. Maybe you are comparing hi mode to a max mode of the A6? If so, the Tiny is about 900 lumens in hi, so isn't as bright.

Ordered NW black, thanks Freeme appreciate your efforts.

My grey NW arrived yesterday. Very pleased, and amazed at how tiny it is! Barely larger than the Basen 4500mah cell I'm running it on.

Will be ordering a black CW today! Thank you freeme!!

Mine holds at over 900 lumens on hi for more than 2 hours of pretty much straight running. Nothing else can do this near it's size I know of.

I'm really lik'n this light the more I use and carry it. Just might go for the switch change to activate it easier, and I find the triple click to lo annoying. Think if I swap the 2.4 ohm (lo mode) with the 750 ohm (med mode), I could get 1 click to lo, 2 clicks to hi, 3 clicks to med, then the modes would cycle hi-med-lo, which isn't all that bad.

Hhmmm. Also might try stacking on the 0.3 ohm resistor to boost turbo, but not too crazy - maybe try a 0.75 on top of it.

I’d like to see price, thx freeme

You’re right Tom E, I took them both outside right now and wow. This thing is awesome I love it!! I also really like the gtd oring under the optic!! Thanks Freeme!!
