Happy Birthday, and thanks for 7 great years (6+ for me). What a fast and bright trip it’s been.

Happy Birthday BLF. :+1:

Happy birthday BLF and thank admin to creat such a nice place

Happy birthday blf. My daughter birthday is the 8th as well. Easy to remember the start of this great forum. Its full of a lot of great people and knowledge. This forum has definitely changed my life. One of the most friendly and helpful places on the internet

Happy birthday BLF! :sushi: Can’t believe another year has already passed.

Happy Birthday BLF

You’re 49 in dog years

Happy Birthday, BLF!

Yay, time for cake!

I have only been a official member for 1.5 years, before that I lurked for darn near the whole life of BLF. I have been a long term member of the other forum, but not a participant. Years ago when I was a noob, I was discouraged there and really did not care for the experience. Once I signed up here, I posted more in the first couple of months than I did over there for years! This forum is very friendly, open and more honest than any other I have been involved with. It is more like a huge extended family here.

I think much of this credit goes to SB, but a large part of it falls to old time stable members that are not condescending and truly enjoy helping and building. I aspire to become one of those members. I lack the tools to build fancy stuff, and I lack the desire to form fancy stuff like some of the members with drills and hacksaw blades :), but I really like this home away from home.

Happy 7th birthday BLF, I hope she survives for many more!

Matt

Aside from my being here just a few months longer this almost exactly describes my well lit journey and my feelings about BLF. Well said Matt. This truly is a great forum. The many helpful and generous people here along with a great admin have truly made this a great place to spend time.

Happy birthday BLF!

Glad I stumbled upon BLF almost 2 years ago. May this forum go forth for many more years to come!

This is very similar to me. I was sporadically on the other forum since I was a teenager; we’re talking 14 or so years ago. I then forgot about it until 2015 when I started to get back into lights. I noticed that this forum would get linked a lot and I gradually started to notice that I found it far more to my liking than the original forum. I never participated on the other forum as it just didn’t feel welcoming, however, BLF is the polar opposite. I actually signed up to BLF and felt happy to contribute.

First thread: Welcome to BudgetLightForum!
1/10/10

I joined on 3/18/11 (Three digit user ID! :sunglasses: , during the .cc.cz days) but it seems that it was almost a month before I made my first post. At that time, my flagship lights were a modded 3D Maglite with 52mm optic and XR-E R2 emitter, and a XR-E 501b. I had initially tried to spend some time at the other place, but found most of my useful information on the DX product forums. Someone there posted a link to the old BLF site, which I followed, and haven’t left since.

I found an old thread of mine from 2013 where I had counted my old invoices and found that I had spent over $1000 at DX, and $600+ at Manafont. :zipper_mouth_face: Now, almost four years later, it would be genuinely scary to see how much I have spent, since the additional orders at DX, FastTech, and Mountain would probably be enough for me to buy a small car… :stuck_out_tongue:

So… THANKS BLF!…

Now, where’s the cake at? Or is the cake a lie?

Although I’ve been here long enough to miss many of the early gang and their individual senses of humor each new member has the opportunity to add something completely different. This place is us and what we bring to the party. I don’t know what else I would have done during this time but it’s hard to imagine it being any better or more rewarding. Happy birthday and thanks to everyone both past, present, and future.

7 years, time is flying by! Happy Birthday to BLF and our moderator sb56637!

Right here with you man . The forum has come a long way .

I’m a new member, so this is my first BLF birthday.

I already spend more time here than on any other forum - the simultaneously more relaxed, more technical atmosphere appeals to me.

May BLF have many more birthdays
