HaikeLite MT03 & MT07 Group-buy Closed

I was led to believe in certain post that the 4S version would be more desirable——?

The benefit of a 2S2P (battery) configuration is that you can mod it with a FET drive.

Nope - not by me, not for modding. A 4S needs the driver to buck voltage down - some think that's more an efficient setup, but that all depends on the driver design - it can be more efficient, better regulated. For modding to use a full out FET, 2S2P is what I want.

An MT07 has several advantages over a L6 for modding - twice as many cells, much better thermal mgt, should get better throw because of the bigger reflector.

Tom, I’m really trying to get a replacement, as this light could be awesome if it was as billed.
My version is the MT03 4s CW version anyway, so I’m not even sure you’d be interested in it.

Ok - shame it's a 4S, but I'd be interested in a MT03 2S2P. If say for example you get a settlement with PayPal and get your money back, and stuck with a light that won't be used, then I'd be interested for sure. Or they send you a replacement that you are satisfied with, but they didn't want the original back because of shipping and you're stuck with it, I would take it. All hypothetical anyways because yours is a 4S. Think I would need a couple parts to convert it to a 2S2P, and not sure I could get them or build/mod them myself.

We’ll have to see how everything pans out. I’m giving them another week, and then I’m filing a paypal dispute. I’ll keep you up to date with whatever they decide to do, or not do.

But has been visiting BLF, the last one was less than a week ago.

So has anyone done a driver swap yet?
Seems the biggest issue is the driver itself. And it wouldn’t be impossible to switch the battery carrier from 4S to 2S2P, cut the traces and solder some wires I’d guess.

They have been visiting BLF but they’re not replying here or to individual members, which makes it extremely suspicious. I’m following this thread closely even though I didn’t order a haikelite because I really want to know how all this ends.

Is this what is being called a shoe lace?

I didn't really pay much attention to it. It seemed familiar - pretty sure the Shockers came with the same exact lanyard thing, same material, same wrap.

From _the_'s review:

From slewflash review:

From pictures some people only received just two feet of Paracord (or appears as Paracord); not braided at all just like in your picture.

Edit: Haikelite just cut a length and dumped it in the box; it’s a subtle way of saying yeah uh whateva… (just my opinion)

WOW—They really did just throw the group buy lights in the box— No we just got the piece of paracord in the box - no braiding like yours— just a shoelace—- No big deal to me I rarely use a lanyard and have dozens to choose from

I’m still jealous that you have yours. Mine has now been sitting in Chicago for a week.

Why did they swap the driver in the first place? because people told them To? If the 2s2p driver worked fine and performed good they should have left it. Maybe no R&D was done with the new driver? I am sure you can mod the driver for more output?

Because the majority of the members on here wanted the 4S driver. I honestly think that you’re right, and the issue is with the 4S driver, as that’s what everyone was sent unless you specifically asked for the 2S2P driver.
Has anyone received a MT03 with the 2s2p driver that is less than half of the claimed specs? I’m thinking all of the duds are the 4S version, and it wasn’t tested or anything before being sent out.

Hopefully some get one gets one with the old driver so we can see how it works. Honestly my one was great. It had a few quirks like the threads but nothing to major. All new gear is going to have a few issues you always take that risk when buying a new product or a group buy.
By changing out the driver to an untested driver this may of happen. I really hope the issues are resolved!

I ordered 4s and received 2s2p  I was not so happy at first but right now I am happy with 2s2p. It’s hitting claimed specs for my opinion (measured with smartphone and compared to other flashlights).

One other thing that I want to mention. If you turn the light directly to turbo mod, there is a tiny sound and even click shortly after, the light is getting ~1650lux, and then ~1800lux after click sound. No sound if switching from low to turbo mode. Fully charged Sanyo batteries.

Weird i wonder what the sound is? Do you have any other flashlights to compare it to? What lux readings do your other lights get?

The sound is very similar to this one at 3:10, and it is very quiet. I can’t get it every time.

My comparing to other flashlights is not reliable, I compared to fake skyray king 9x XML T6 - 240lux maximum VS 1900lux maximum for MT03. Also compared to XM L2 T6 which is also getting around 240lux.

In general it helps to compare the results to other light. Say your xml2 flashlight is about 1000 lumens and gets 240 lux that will kind of tell you how bright or how much brighter the MT03 is. That would make the MT03 around 8500-9000 lumens.
