Review request for HKJ [USB Power Devices]

Thanks for that, but do not expect a review in the near future, I have a couple of chargers in queue.

i hope you will continue reviewing blitzwolf powerbanks.
i pre-ordered one of their latest powerbanks:

do you think you will review it?
(i have the old xiaomi 4x18650 10400mah powerbank, and the single cell blitzwolf powerbank, but have been thinking about something in-between them as well, when this one appeared at a pre-order price of $12.99)

Blitzwolf sometimes send stuff to me for review, I do not know if I will get that power bank.
Due to the amount of items I have in queue I will not be buying it myself.

Familiar looking box with 5 USB ports, beware the clones …

he’s dissecting what appears a well designed board with decent separation between AC and DC sides but a dead short somewhere inside

May I ask how to donate equipment to you? I’d be interested in your opinion of the Belkin F7U005bt04-BLK illustrated here. (Comment split from BlitzWolf BW-C4 thread.)

Or I can ask Jen Warren (Global Director of PR, Belkin) to send you a sample. I presume they have their own warehouses nearby, and would appreciate a counter-point to my initial criticism of this charger when used with the Google Pixel (Sailfish model).

Please let me know what option is best with you, and I will endeavor to get it to you!

May I ask a review of the Xiaomi Dual USB car charger with Bluetooth? Xiaomi Roidmi 2S http://m.banggood.com/Original-Xiaomi-ROIDMI-2S-Dual-USB-3_8A-Dual-Mode-Bluetooth-4_2-Hands-free-Calls-Car-Charger-p-1042119.html

I wonder if they have correct overload protection.

I will add it to my queue.

Thanks! I have an older version and the Xiaomi car charger seems quite nice. I hope the inside is also good.

Hi, if you could please review this charger:

Xiaomi charger

Hello HKJ,

please consider the TOMO T4. Would be very interesting, since it allows the use of own cells.

It’s similar to the Soshine E3S.

I wouldn't call it similar, i'd call it a clone/oem/made to order model :)

Tmart has it too, under their TLIFE brand. I did a video on one recently.

I have just posted a review of the TMart model: Test/review of TLife Power bank TC-01

Thanks!

I found this USB charger, which is unusual/rare because of the horizontal orientated ports. This makes it useful for USB Voltmeters on each port

Link is already adjusted for Denmark

Well, this Satechi Type-C Power Meter seems to be making the rounds on some of the techsites I read :

But the $30 dollar pricetag seems a little high for a UPM without any form of logging or analysis like the YZXStudio's.

Banggood sells a combination USB-charger with wall outlet. I doubt they are good, but a test would be interesting.

I would buy a certified socket from a respected retailer in your country so you know it has passed all the safety tests.

I bought 4x UK USB sockets from china, I found that the earth connection did not make contact with the plugs earth pin at all on any of the 4, I contacted the seller and got a full refund and binned the possibly lethal sockets.

Buy quality when you are working with mains ac voltage.

John.

Well for that price you have almost ever issues. I don’t know if a good one exists, the thing from Busch & Jaeger has below 1A and for the price of this http://www.amazon.de/dp/B018KM3QVE
you get two x6 Anker USB charger.

@HKJ
If you consider these, please very thoroughly test

- heat development (especially with one cell discharge)

- unbalanced charge termination and

  • low discharge protection.

My Soshine E5 (aka TOMO V8-3) has serious issues in all these departements.
Gravest one: 2 cells in parallel went down to ~2.15V over night; I then tested with a single cell (just left in the case, nothing attached) and halted the test at 1.86V resting. Pretty scary.

I like the design of that one, but I do not like the price. It is a bit expensive to buy and just open up.

At the current time I cannot test advanced usb-c, i.e. I cannot test this. I might return to it when I have a setup that can handle the testing.

I already have this one in queue.

I will probably also take a look at this one.

I have already published the review of the TLife version, it did not have all these problem.
