HaikeLite MT03 & MT07 Group-buy Closed

I am currently replying to a Mr Lee from HaikeLite,
And normally I never would never no matter what post a part of or an entire personal message to the public, but this is not a normal situation, so I am posting for all to read what he has said to me, and the why things are the way they are at the moment with HaikeLite,
My response is reasonably straight forward, not many options for them from my point of few and reply, it’s like this… resend me two lights in 2S2P, as he admits that 4S and the driver is the primary issue as we have suspected here on thread, and then just flat out sloppy work in changing out battery configuration plates to 4S, telling us stupid reason for why taking so long to get things shipped, all is very clear, so my demand is two new lights, period and you can keep the $20 you still owe me, if not acceptable, fine PayPal dispute, I also warned him of the dispute already in progress and that he and their company are running out of time to reply to disputes, and this will cause them major problems so I advise to pay attention, contact PayPal and start explaining or they are going to go under real fast, BG and GB will not be happy with a vendor who has PP issues either…

Hi Mr Gary

Really sorry for the lack of communication these days.

Our boss is badly sick in hospital these days…Many things are in a mess in our company. Alva went home to look after him.

MT03 II is ready in stock now… I m in charge all the after-sale issue now.

In our test, 2P2S driver is much brighter than 4S driver in turbo mode.

So what do you want us to help? Resend you a new MT03 II with 2S2P driver?

Best Regards!
Lee

Edit: I sure hope you all understand why I thought posting this entire message as so important, definitely not something I would ever do to you or another member, regardless of circumstances, this is just to important and tells us and the members of this GB who and what is involved now that Alva is out of the picture, seems like some good faith effort, maybe…?? But not counting my chickens or fortune cookies either… I don’t have any chickens anyhow…

I got the same message you did. I’ll give them a couple weeks to get their shit together. That said, I’m not closing out my paypal dispute until I have the new light in hand.

Im in similar situation….bought 2xMT03 and MT07 before Xmas but nothing arrived.

PayPal dispute has lodged but no resolution /communication from seller yet.

I would be happy if they ship the lights with new model. I really like the design and I think I can mod to pump more juice.

Maybe the story is true, give them benefit of the doubt, maybe Alva is his wife / daughter is going back to care for him.
Just remember… they are a new start up company, they might not have enough people to work for them ( or shell out $$ to pay for extra employee). that’s probably things are difficult when you don’t have the boss around to make the decisions.
I received all of mine, and a lot of other guys also received theirs too. so have some patience, with that said of course patience within 45 days of paypal protection.

I came out from year long hiatus from BLF, just recently active again… ( maybe my mistake coming back… my wallet is a lot thinner again :person_facepalming: )

Things happened whether you want to hear it or not, upon coming back here again, I just heard the news of one of my favorite modder Justin AKA Oldlumens has passed away ( R.I.P Justin )
Never thought that could happen to someone that we love, but things do happen.

So… instead raising your blood pressure yourself, grab something nice and cold from the fridge and pick one of your lights and just turn them ON and start shining at stuffs, just to make yourself happy.
I did that with one of my light that Justin built for me… shine them to the sky upon hearing the news of his passing,
And don’t worry about the lights, I’m pretty sure they’re decent company willing to make things right.
BTW I’m in no way have associate or work for them

Unless I’m mistaken that was already ‘in the works’ and not a special request. I could be wrong, but I don’t recall them making 4S because we wanted it.

Also, 2S2P variations have had output issues as well, not just 4S.

4S was there in the beginning. When we first spoke of getting an MT07 to review, I was asked if I wanted 2S2P or 4S. This was before the 4S was even mentioned or listed anywhere. There might have been talk bout it before hand though in the thread, not sure.

Kenny - I got my MT07 resistor modded and got a nice bump. Plan on swapping the LED for a P2 1C for a little more boost.

Btw, nice to see you back! Hope all is well...

Hooray an update!

Oh well … :person_facepalming:

Well I have really spectacular news, for once, and no I’ve not learned anything more about 4S or 2S2P than I already think I know, which amounts to about very little overall.
The good new is, as some already know that Alva had some problems he had to take care of and there is now a man named Lee who is the after sales issues man for Haike and I can say he is really great and resolved all my issues really very fast.

Just two messages and all is resolved, well I can only go by what he had said in the message this morning,
The message this morning said that he is sending me all new edition lights asap…

So I told him in a reply that I’d come back and let you all know there is a good man on the job or so this is what I believe and maybe to hold off on PP disputes until you can get in touch with Lee and talk about whatever your issues are and then if nothing PP dispute, I believe he is really getting things done and I know he must be swamped.

So just wanted to pass this along as good news has been in short supply, I’d be a lot happier if I could say I had them in my hands and their incredible but I don’t but do expect that to be the case and soon,

Edit: It is good to believe that they are standing behind their product, just wanted to throw that in to hopefully help with any concerns, I know I sure was wondering just that a bit, nah actually, A LOT…

Nice! Appreciate that positive things are mentioned too

I couldn’t agree more Rick, and the positive things that have been said are well not the positive favorably types, like I am positive I have just received a shoe lace instead of a lanyard, ha ha ha…
I was literally thrilled to be able to post that sort of info and am so hopeful that it takes off some of the rough edge to this GB

Just my curiosity, when did you paid for the light and how long it took to arrive?

mine has been well over a month and the tracking number they gave never work. I’m confident to say they never ship my order :frowning: grrrrrrrrr.

I will wait two more weeks… If the light still not arrive I will ask paypal for refund:

Say Nicolicous, try sending a message to the new fella at Haike and ask what’s going on, maybe they are lost, but I talked with him on Monday about how bad my lights were and explained all the problems and today he sent me a message saying he was sending me new lights and covering the return expense.
So to me that is a guy who is taking care of business and doing it quickly.
I would send a message as soon as possible, this fella is swamped with problems from these lights but he was really very decent about everything,
So just a thought and he did say that the lights going out now are all 2S2P since they know now that the driver and 4S don’t play well together I guess,
I’d give him a chance and then PP them early next week if he doesn’t get on your problem super fast, you should be able to be as upset with these lights as the rest of us after all…
His name is Lee…

Thanks T18

i will message him

Yes you bet Nic,
I really don’t want to write all this but this is what I know and as far as Lee goes, my time frame from his introduction message to me and questions to final decision about what he will do for my situation was about 2 days maybe 3 max, actually reasonable to me and quick enough considering I am not the only one with problems, I would not want to be in this man shoes right now and actually nearly feel sorry for him.

Golly - glad that this all seems to be sorting itself out, but I’m curious as to the problems with the driver and the 4S models. I am pretty sure my 4S is working just fine - is there anyone else out there that has a 4S that is in working order? Is there any way without measuring the lumens (which I am not equipped to do) that I can verify I have a fully functioning flashlight (lumens-wise)? I have nothing remotely near the advertised turbo output of the Haikelight to compare it against, unfortunately……

You can do a ceiling bounce test with several lights with known output simultaneously; the total output should equal to that of the Haikelite.

My lights work OK, BUT they don’t put out the rated lumens—- I’m measuring my MT03nw @ 5800 lumens on Turbo— the crazy part is the High mode is producing 3200 lumens—- one of my biggest gripes is modes 2 and 3 are so close together—-I’d be happy with the Turbo like it is if it wouldn’t step down—heat is no issue at these outputs

My MT07 makes about 4000 lumens

These measurements are taken from ceiling bounce test using a multiplier figured from an X7 and a TN36
The crazy part is if I use a multiplier from other single emitter lights eagletac etc — The MT03 and MT07 put out the rated amount of Lumens
Seems like I’d go with those numbers Huh —The only problem is that would make the X7 read 11,500 lumens and the TN36 over 9000 lumens
I’m really curious is it because of the massive amount of lumens causing false readings one way or the other

If you are trying to see differences with the naked eye that’s very hard to do—unless you are comparing like model/type lights
sort of like driving without a speedometer —yeah I’m going about that fast

Chops, what is a multiplier?
What is a good lux meter under $100, way under.
What is an ideal setup for measuring lumens OTF,
I was told already to get the cell phone app and I’m not doing that, just want to get a meter and what have you
Thanks

I have a Extech Easyview 31— I don’t know how it rates among meters—I’m told Extech are a good brand—I usually callibrate with a known light before testing—these meter do crazy things sometimes (low batteries make the meter read high) go figure seems like it would be the other way around — For the most part I read like measurements on my reference lights
