The new LED XHP50.2

Nice comparison. So it seems that the XHP50.2 in a smooth reflector does not produce a donuthole in the hotspot? Are the dies then as close together as the XHP50? (The continuous phosfor alone can not be responsable for a donut-free hotspot)

Beautiful pics steel!

Great news! Anyone here that has an idea if or where I could buy one of those?!

Thusfar just Kaidomain.com

do they throw better than xhp 35 or not?

Very nice, this should work very nice in my planned host.

It does not appear to have much tint shift, is this what you see by eye as well?

No black cross now. (没有黑心了。)

Steel - what is that light on the right? Can't make out a model name - says ST ??? Is this a model you sell? Curious because it appears to be a re-branded Yezl Y3, and I've modded a bunch, still got a few - nice light, but can't find a good source anymore to buy them. Was buying from gearBest but the last batch was awful from them, so I gave up for now.

no, even the XHP35 throw weaker than Xp-g2 dedomed
it depends on die size

It is a N-LIGHT ST-90D.

Maybe ST-90D is no longer produced.

But, You can find ST-90D in Taobao.

N-Light ST-90D

Hey, thanks for sharing steel! Does this emitter have the same issues with color blending that the XPG3 and XPL2 have??

This is what I wanna know. Even “95 CRI” won’t mean crap if we get a fried egg hotspot and blue spill.

I know right. So far even with optics about the best I’ve seen is yellow around the edges with a warm pink center… Great description for a piece of cake… Not so much for an LED. LOL

Yes, yellow with a little green.

What’s up with the flaky phosphor trend now?

Yep it started with the G3 and they will jack up the XHP35 and 70 next! :confounded:

Time to start hording the “old emitter’s” now!

Ouch. Haven’t seen the green epidemic since late XPG to early XPG2 I think.

Taobao is not an option - can't understand Chinese, and even if there was a way to communicate, dunno cost w/shipping, etc. Just been working on a couple Y3's - forgot how bad quality is, how many changes they went through from batch to batch -- lots of lots of issues, plus no support from Yezl, worse was the no support from GearBest who was the last one selling them.

These N-LIGHT's though look better from what parts they show like the threads, but there's important stuff not shown, like the MCPCB shelf - all had some sort of concave shape, some worse than others - horrible contact with the MCPCB, though the shelf itself was super thick. Also I see the N-LIGHTs have that huge over sized centering piece. It has to go - when replaced, lumens bumps significantly, but because it's so thick, you have to add a copper shim under the MCPCB, further complicating things.

Really wonder bout these N-LIGHT's though. Would love to see one and see if it's a truly better quality Y3 equivalent.

Hi,

i can confirm this. No donut hole at all.

Maxtoch M12

Nice Spot but with yellow corona similar to the XP-G3.

But it seems i burned two emitters with fully charged 26350s. I will reflow the LED again, perhaps it was only bad soldered.

Hi there,
can anyone tell me where is + and - if I want to reflow to a new board?!

Greets,
Tom
