No worries m8, just keep that spirit of your high
PPl like you made that place as it is now.

I see y’all use that m8 for “mate” and every single time my beautiful baked Solarforce M8 comes to mind with it’s shiny finned copper pill from Bucket. Man I love that light!

Dang m8! You told me you built a lot of custom Convoy lights but I didn’t realize the volume you were talking about. Well done sir! :+1:
Also awesome of you to make such a generous offer to my brother in the light! :sunglasses:

SBT-70 in my convoy L6

!!

Love that. I SOOOO wish there were more round emitters like that. Great mod.

I have 30 of them

Just now I took an XPL HI V3 3C and drove it to 7.4amps (4.4 volts) to see if it would survive. It did. I dont know output was any good at that current (didn’t test it), but in this one test it worked ok.

 :+1:
I love seeing stuff like this! Thank you for sharing. More details please!

The V3’s are tough been running 2 different UT02’s on the 20700A’s 26mmFETDDVishay sir404 FET’s with copper driver adapters and both V3’s are seeing over 6.6amps the V3 5700k is at 6.81amp hitting hard just over 7amps at start up and surviving, no problems so far!

In other news today, I opened up my options to 30mm (Noctigon that is) and have several candidates for thrower emitters now that the reflector minus the stand off at the base, can sit directly on the board, with the option to shim for focus. I have a several de-domed emitters to try, and yes even a couple OLD XP-G2’s that are pulling 6.04amps at start-up and settling down to 5.80 amps. Some de-domed XP-L V6-1A’s cause the XP-L V6 0D’s suck! And of course my beloved XHP35’s HI’s and a couple de-domed E2-1A’s that are just about ready, can’t wait to see the tint shift on these! :+1:

Which variant do you have? Standard cool-white oder maybe 5700K high-cri?

You lucky then, presonaly i dont high drive those anymore, cant rely upon them, imagine if they start popping what would all those huntingfriends of mine think about me
Without a spring bypass at about 5 amps…works for me, for the rest dedoming

cold white tints are way more durable, in fact i dont recall seeing one of those with burns near the bond wires

It’s been awhile I’ll have to do some digging for the info but the one I threw in looks cool white

Just now I had the chance to do some testing.

*L2 *host, V3 XPL HI emitter, FET driver = 205,000 lux.

That is with the factory lens and not an ar coated. Also with the factor focus. I just popped in a ring. I was using a keeppower cell which are pretty good, but I think there is room for improvement there too.

To be honest I am pretty happy with that for something I just put together and spent no real time optimizing.

Anyone know if there is an AR coated lens being sold for the L2?

The L2 is sold with AR coated lens since a year. If your not support 17mm driver just bigger, 20mm if I remember correct it has to be AR coated.

It’s giving me the cold sweats trying to resist those SBT-70’s…. :disappointed:

The one I got still fits a 17mm or 20mm (which I think is better), so I guess that would be the reason I didn’t get an AR lens with mine.

Same here can’t wait till my parts comes in from Richard to finish my 2 builds

1. Will be in my convoy L6
2. Lumintop sd75

To be continued….

Question about the “old” new L2 Banggood L2 host

I like the block style knurling on the tube instead of the new style. But what else is changed?
Is it 17mm driver hole in the old one or 20mm like the new?

Also there was talk of single cell tubes for the L6, what style of knurling is it on that?

Regards
Erik

I like the block knurling better too, it just wasn’t very doable with the single-plus-extension approach as it’s nearly impossible to get the blocks to line up properly and Simon didn’t care for that aesthetically. He went with the “ring style” to avoid mismatched blocks. But to appease me and a few others he did make a single piece two cell tube with the block style knurling. That’s still available in the Convoy store as far as I know and the single cell block style tube will fit both the L2 and the L6 so that one’s covered. I imagine that new tube should be on sale pretty much as soon as the store reopens.

As far as what else changed on the L2 from the single cell version to the convertible (current model), the driver pocket went from 17mm to 20.5mm. The single cell version used the 17mm LD-25 driver and the current version uses the 20mm LD-29 driver that allows use with either one or two cells. Other than that the longer tube added the threaded tactical ring which can be swapped with a simple ring that just disappears and hides the threads for the ring if you don’t like the tac-ring. I think that pretty much covers the changes.

Finally got most of rings, hazy fuzy corona out of the Convoy Test Smooth reflector L6 XHP35 E4-3C HD build! By diffusing the bottom shelf of the reflector from the emitter hole, up the side about 2mm! The Ole PFLEXPro Hybrid Reflector Mod,Thanks Randy! :+1:

Now for the 4S 26500 battery tube mod. Used a fine wire, wire wheel on my DotCo die grinder to remove the non conductive material.

Finally found a use for all those beauty rings I have laying around!

Now that don’t look too awful bad, now does it! It’ll work for me!

2S tube and the extension.

Bro’s! In XHP35’s JAX X6 Hunter 3+ amps E4-1C HI and the L6 3+ amps XHP35HD E4-3C

Looks pretty close to 3,000 lumens to me…
