My Klarus XT12GTS
To fit an oring in your light sand diwn the spacer a mm?
I’ve never given a whole lot of thought to modded lights.
One homemade light by CRX happened to catch my eye when he posted this thread about it.
This little one is made from some 12mm copper tube, copper squares, magnets, an extendable aerial and an old aluminium marker pen using only small hand tools.
The light slides apart so is held together via friction and neodymium magnets soldered to both the driver board and switch contact which hold on to each end of the battery.
I used cold bluing solution to make it look antiquated.
Three mode memory driver, 0.9A, 0.4A and 0.10A
XM-L2 4C on Copper DTP MCPCB in handmade alumi…
Sorry I can’t put pics up but there are a whole load on his thread - I just love the symmetry of it, the cold-blued finish, the sparse switch, the fact it has been knocked together with copper tube and a few other bits and bobs. I think it is superb and I wish I had 1/100th of his ability.
So, I may be excluded from the GAW because (a) I haven’t posted a pic and (b) it isn’t a modded light, it’s a creation.
Anyway, if I can be in, then great.

Nice light you are giving away!
thanks for the excitement and slim chance of winning it, so heck yeah i am in!
Again that question about favorite mod, dang very very hard!
all those things made by the machinists are not modded because made from scratch, that makes it a bit easier
all the wood, triples, insane builds, very tough
so I go again with the modded JM30
It was a love at first sight since it was introduced and I knew I have to get my hands on this flashlight. First one I bought was JM35 with the side switch and that one turned out to be a disaster. Drivers retaining ring was glued so hard and full of aluminium debris to the point that it was impossible to unscrew without ruining the body. Eventually I hacked the head in half and called it a day. At least I saw how it was built. So disappointing, I'm sure many modders here can relate to this.

Edit for both bump and to say to X3 I really like this topic, cooool!

Congrats for your 1000+ posts -X3 - and thanks for your great GAW!
Many great flashlight mods I've seen at BLF, but with no second thought, the best imo is CRX's Carbon Fibre & Brass that I'm proud to own! It's a handmade unique piece of art!

This Mi7 Titanium mod by CRX takes the cake for me.
A busy day off modding for me, i also received the Klarus Mi7 titanium version, very nice light but the switch is too easily unintentionally activated and using the electronic lockout all the time is a hassle so i set about a mild fix for this by shortening the switch post by filing some from the bottom until there is just enough material to hold the spring clip in place, i took up the extra space by installing a small washer inside the light so now the switch does not protrude from the flashlig…

The two EDC’s I have with me today.
Ultrafire AT-007, Omten switch, bistro driver, XP-G2 S3 3D dedomed, purple Efest 14500 battery (600lm, 40kcd)
Supfire S1, Nichia 219C R9050 SM353, fixed BLF-A6 driver with 470 Ohm bleeder, lighted tail with slow-changing rgb leds. (my current favourite EDC, perfect modes, tint, output, beam, the funky lighted tail is a bonus)
