Review:No name USB charging nice quality flashlight

For ~$10, why not indeed!
And with its own hard case?!
It would be interesting to see a tear-down, to see how easy/difficult it is to swap out the emitter.

Sorry just arrived to work, I am not having it with myself for more pictures.

There is small copper/brass pill for Led screws into reflector, and then reflector is threaded to head. Not rally best solution but good enough for decent heat transfer.

Swapping Led should be peace of cake.

Tail reading is 2,3A, with spring bypass 2,6A

Thank you for the info ‘NikolaS’……… :+1:

It would be great if last brightness level could be memorized, but the fact that there is no visible PWM like in other cheap lights, and almost zero paralistic drain makes it really difficult to beat.

Well ordered one via your (presumed) aff link
Used points so €8,50
Do have some XML2 NW and XPL Hi NW LEDs to swap if it is indeed a blue saladebright

No aff just shortened link for YouTube statistic

ah ok well ordered, and behind the pc in a bit so finally able to watch that video!
(hmm i should start a thread for all to link their youtube channels in so we can all help each other by subbing. yeah give me a day  )

Every thing needs a name. I did not want to call it the “Red Button GearBest Light that looks like a Nitenumen NE01 or Nitecore MH20” so I found out that it is also known as Skywolfeye L206.
If you prefer a 1x26650 version this is called Skywolfeye L2-207.

Have you got a link to the 26650 version TBone? I do a search on GB and can’t find it. :person_facepalming:
Thank you………. :+1:

Hm. Can’t find the link on eBay again. Here is the search on Aliexpress.

Oh no, all the lights with skywolfeye on it I have are rubbish.
Even when I have two lights that costs the same, look the same and one of the two has skywolfeye on it, that one feels worse and works worse.
I really hope this Gearbest light is not a skywolfeye :frowning:

Then I say let’s call it CFG01 Cheap, fake and good

I like it……… :+1:

Wow & they say the 26650 cell version is 8,000 lumens “Lumen: 8000 Lumens”
I expect it to have the same driver & fake led as the 18650 version so the same output just longer run time on a 26650.
I have to agree with The Miller in that the 8 Skywolfeye lights I have are the worst quality lights I have purchased (6 x 18650 zoomies & 2 x 26650 zoomies).
Fortunately I did expect that when purchasing (6 x 18650 zoomies for $7.50 delivered what do you expect & that is $7.50 for the 6 not each)
It does seem that the light reviewed above is better than the Skywolfeye lights I already have however & offers some nice features for the price :+1:

i ordered 2 of them weeks ago and it’s currently on the boat to Australia

Does gearbest sell what is needed to swap in a legit XM-L2 ? possibly ?: http://www.gearbest.com/diy-parts-and-tools/pp_142215.html?wid=21

Wow! Really interesting, but a tad bummer the brightness ramp-down is awfully fast. Nice host for a 219C R9050 emitter swap. :-D

An Ultraturd blue! LoL!

Cheers ^:)

I have 4 of them. Excellent little light for $12.

wstrachan, could you post some pics of the driver? Preferably good closeups with macro if available. Is it easily moddable? Raising the driving current, that is.

Cheers ^:)

2 arrived with me today :+1:
A good little light for the money with nice features like the battery status via the illuminated mode switch & on board USB charging.
I like the ramping UI.
USB charging is OK also with the lap top pulls I put in them coming out at bang on 4.20v before settling to a resting voltage of 4.16v a couple of hours later (with better cells, these lap top pulls have seen a lot of use, resting voltage may well be better).
The claim in the review of 550 OTF lumens looks about right, with the tint being cool but no hint of blue/green/purple as I have seen with other fake Cree leds I have (yes they are not Cree  ).
They have a reasonable sized hot spot with a bit of spill.
The supplied 3000mah “crapfire” cells are in my Lii-500 now having a capacity test done but based on the very high resistance shown of 125 & 72 which are much higher than any cell I have I don”t expect to much.
In fact the test has just ended whilst I type & the 72 resistance cell shows 1212mah & the 125 resistance cell 1194mah :person_facepalming:
Unsurprising really & these cells will be off to the recycle bin
All in all I am happy with the performance, quality & features for the price :+1:
