where did you order your light from? I followed the link from this thread and the other thread (that I linked to above), and they both go to the same light on Gear Best which has the tail USB charging port (or at least it appears so in the photos)
….curious if there are two versions of this light around??? Even more reason for us to have the name of a manufacturer and a model name or number for these lights

interesting - I wonder if the illustrations in the GearBest listing are not correct? Has anyone else received this mystery USB chargeable light from GearBest? and if so, is YOUR charging port on the side or the end of the flashlight ?

The advertisement on GB”s site still shows the same price for me as I paid for the 2 that have arrived & the one I ordered Wednesday $11.75 but the pictures in the ad have changed.

When I ordered mine the pictures clearly showed the USB port on the head opposite the side switch which is where the USB port is on the 2 that have arrived.
Now the pictures show the USB port on the end of the tail cap.
When I ordered this latest one I just re-ordered from my original order details without taking any notice of the pictures so I have no idea where the port will be on this one when it arrives.
There will be no light with charger in tailcap
Olight has such lights but they need a special battery to be able to use it
But in general the charge port must be on a p,ace of the light where both battery contacts are availiable.
To make this happen you need a wire to the tail or a battery having both terminals exposed at the tail

EDIT:
In the pictures at the side of the main ad you can see the bottom of the tail cap & there is clearly no USB port.
In the large pictures after the main ad they show a picture of the USB port in what to me certainly looks like a tail cap & not the side of the head.
Also the shape of the tail cap in the USB port picture is not the same shape as this lights tail cap so it is obviously of a different lights tail cap.
Anyway I already have 2 & a 3rd on the way :+1:

I was completely confused & had to hold my light up against your picture above with the port cover off to realise they were one & the same :person_facepalming:

Ooooooh! I see - it’s a circular crop of the side USB port that makes it appear to be a rear-of-the-tube charging port (guess I need to look at these more on my computer and less on my phone) It’s VERY clear on my macbook, but I swear, on my phone, it appears to be at the rear… :person_facepalming:

It fooled me too for quite a while until I saw the picture mentioned in the quote below. When I saw it, all became clear.
Hmmmm, thank you ‘B-H’; but I was mainly just trying to answer raynman’s question up in post #13…… I had in fact completely missed what you said about the tail cap location until I just went back and re-read it. 
It must have just been a “brain fart” on your part though, because I cannot believe it is “an age thing”; nor that you could be “stupid” either.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it…….

yeah - all this attention I’ve been giving this light has gotten to me - finally I’ve given in and have ordered one for myself….
It was inevitable, really - I just can’t look too much at any light for too long without having to have it in my hands…
Conclusion
I can’t recommend this light.
I don’t like it, I’m glad I don’t have to test it any more,
and I’m not even sure what I’ll do with it from here.
