a new EDC light of 2017- JAXMAN E2L

The people you’re arguing with are not here.

That’s why we prefer lights that aren’t glued tight. If you spend a little time here you’ll see that’s been an issue with several other manufacturers. Not just my issue.

I’m in no position to demand anything. I’ve asked Jaxman here in the past for a host and been delighted to be offered the opportunity to buy one (and Jaxman made hosts available to everyone here to mutual benefit).

Same situation here — they find out what we like because it’s useful for them to know, and we try to be helpful and not rude about it.

I am interested too

Well I certainly would be interested in a host as well

Hoosh, we are not so demanding with every flashlight, but particularly on this flashlight because it seems extremely useful as a host. Most of us modders can swap parts and many fancier things, but we can not machine the flashlight itself. This is the first flashlight that is in stock form build for triple optics and uses only standard parts and sizes. I’m sure for many people it is great as it is, but for the (pretty large) group of modders on BLF it promises to be a dream host as well.

jaxman, I ordered the EL2 last night, along with the higher powered UV light. Would it be possible for you to send me the EL2 in host form, unassembled? I have Nichia 219C emitters that I would like to use.

I already have 2 Nichia UV lights, one with the highest emmitter (NVSU333A) and one with the (NVSU233A), yours will round out my UV collection nicely and the black lens is really a nice addition, looking forward to that! I’m wondering if you might be able to help me source a 35mm lens in that UV pass type? I have the NVSU333A in a full Copper X6 at 3640mW (3.5Amp) and it would be really nice to have that specialty glass.

hi dear DB,

thank you!

Now due to short of human resources, we have to sell only completed flashlights.
I think we must can sell host for dears like you. Pls give us some time.

Your package has been shipped out. Thanks for your appriciation.

Have a nice day.

I like Jaxman. Very positive vibe

We are more than happy to hear that you want to help us .

Thanks jaxman!

I’m wondering how the Jaxman UV compares to the Convoy S2+ UV with the filter installed?

I was wondering the same thing Glenn, enough to put some dough on the table. lol

At a glance, the $40+ price tag of this light might seem a bit much, but the Nichia emitter is a very big piece of that in and of itself. I know when I bought the NVSU333A direct from Nichia it was $108 and required a signed letter of release and my own business letterhead to buy it. It’s potent, no doubt about it. At any rate, the black lens and nice build of this one should give it an appeal for carrying to check hotel rooms/beds and the like.

When you go out to eat, don’t you ever wonder just how clean the bathroom REALLY is? (I know, sometimes it’s perhaps best not to know but I’m a very curious sort…)

I actually used one of those odd looking clear jellybean looking “optics” from Nichia on the NVSU233A that I have, it makes for a beam pattern and works pretty well but is rather odd.

I guess I should order a camera lens filter in the black UV pass glass and adapt it to fit my 35mm requirement in the X6/NVSU333A light. I might get lucky and find one that the glass fits, hope so, as I really do dislike grinding glass.

Thank you Jaxman, figured it was too late to ask about the order I’d already placed. Looking forward to future purchases with some flexibility. Much appreciate your insights and willingness to help us out here.

Would a piece of exposed film work as a visible-light filter for UV or IR?

No moon mode, pity…

Is this available yet in Nichia ?.
Thanks.

I will wait for the host patiently

Me too, although with 3xXP-G2 on this low power, it will be an efficient light with (thus) enough brightness (low CRI and no red but high luminous flux) long runtime and no heat issues.

I just wanna play around with different drivers in this. A flashlight with a triple emitter by default was too tempting to pass up since I haven’t modded one of my own yet.

It looks easy enough to mod the driver, I have one of Richard’s 7135+FET drivers that’s gonna go on mine. Not sure if it will replace my built XP-L Hi triple though.

I’m curious as to how that goes for you. Maybe I should order some drivers in anticipation.

I suggested in the MtnElectronics thread that RMM could maybe do a sufficiently large host order that Jaxman would fill it.
I think enough of us would line up in advance to make it worthwhile to hire someone to pack the parts up and ship them.
It’d be fun to find out how this flashlight shell handles a lot of different drivers and triple emitters.

Mtn is no good for me because of shipping costs :frowning:
