Hope this isn’t a silly question, but is there any other way to get the E2L than through AX?
First, AX insists on displaying its pages for me in German, and other than “Klink” and “Schultz” I don’t speak German. (Yeah, yeah, click the set-language thingy, but sometime later on a different page, it’s back to the stalag again.)
Second, I’d rather not set up yet another account on another site, especially if I don’t sprechen sie deutsch.
Was hoping one would be available at GB, FT, Amazon, somewhere…
I feel your pain. I was very much upset with AE a couple hours ago due to their site glitches. I managed to ignore the language selection glitch but the mobile version I was trying to buy some Thorfire items but the page kept on changing back to mobile view every time I go to another page.
I ended up closing the tabs without buyung the items :weary:
Close any AE page and delete the AE cookies
Enter only via www, never in de, pt, es, or any other language
If you accidentally enter a language other than English, then you must delete the AE cookies
I am having the same issuues, someone recommended to click on “global site” on Top Right.
I think there were many people asking him the same question about avoiding AX, so I suggested to start an interest group to get an idea on everyone’s preferences and to see the numbers.
I think Jax also mentioned in one of the threads in feedback section that he is now accepting paypal. I don;t know the details though.
I’m not really understanding your having that problem Lightbringer, I logged in and bought a couple of lights from Jaxman on AliExpress using a Visa card and it was zero issue. They shipped quickly, enroute even now.
No glue is indestructible.
I’m getting restless waiting for it to arrive. Shipping says it’s waiting to be accepted by usps so it’s probably crossing the ocean. I’m excited.
Well, if he were gluing it with JB Weld nobody would be getting into the light. It’s the exception to that “no glue is indestructible” rule of y’alls. (preserving the light, being key. If JB Weld were used the only way in would be through destruction.)
Arctic Silver is also tough to break, worse by far than Red or Blue Loctite on threads. So there are ways to make it impossible to get in and keep the light intact. I’ve had my issues with Loctite Red, but the 5” jaws on my lathe can hold a light really well and so far I’ve gotten in to everything I wanted in to…
Ironically, it’s the modders that make it necessary to glue. Or a select few with modding intent. Those that get into a light, damage it, then want it replaced on warranty. The only way to make sure your warranty is good is to glue a light so it’ll be stable for the masses and show the tampering for those that break in and kill em. Like the chipped lens issue. When the manufacturer takes steps to ensure every light is as perfect as they can make it, then have somebody want to exploit the warranty, it’s got to be exasperating. I’ve even glued lights myself, to keep that tampering out of a difficult build. (yes, even to keep MYSELF from further messing with it)
I’ve seen a rare light that the mcpcb was glued in so good it was easier for me to mount the head in the lathe and turn out the emitter and mcpcb rather than spend a lot of time trying to break it free with heat or whatever. I’ve even cut through complete drivers that way as well.
