*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

This is interesting, I will buy if the price is good.

I would be in for at least two if the finished product is as good as I think it will be.

The price and quality will both be better than good.

Happy new year to DBSAR!

It would be great to know how his project is going to in 2017

I’d be interested for one, possibly more depending on pricing. I’m all for a good (maybe perfect?) lantern… but this IS the budget light forum, so budget is key. That’s not to say I expect this lantern to be sold for 8.78 on GB! lol… no, that’s ridiculous. But I certainly don’t want to pay $60-$80 for it either.

I’ve been looking for decent lanterns for a week, this is the most promising one I have found. Definitely interested.

If it can eventually get rolling to a production model then will be no prob.

Nice to hear from the “father of the lantern”
How possible is that the lamp will get into production this year?

I don’t know at the moment, as The Miller is busy working on the BLF Q8 and BLF Thrower lights at this time, ( he has more resources to reach out to manufacturers than i do.

For those desperate for a lantern, just make a wire cage that supports a soda cup, use the cup as a mold for t-shirt fabric saturated with epoxy resin(use a sleeve), then drop an inverted foil cone in the top.

WUT?

Subbed

So, I was wondering if this could be an add-on to the Q8, like a lantern adapter of sorts. It could be something the fits over the light to make it a lantern, sorry if this is not reasonable, I’m new here.

This has to many diffences to work that way. (driver modes, charging, how the LED is set up, color tint, CRI, etc.

I think only the battery tube could be the same. … and the same as on other SRK flashlights.

it could, as this is configured to use four 18650’s in parallel as the other lights.

+1 :+1:

I’d be in for 1

Any updates? I’d love to see Thorfire build this along with the Q8.

not at the moment, i believe TheMiller is probably a bit busy working on the Q8, BLF Thrower, and other projects to to want to bother him yet on this one. I do hope someday soon we can get this rolling though. I am adding a USB charging function to the prototype (TP4056 based) to add versatility.
