Odepro KL41 review

I received an Odepro KL41 from Odepro Outdoors for review. They have a presence here on Blf for just over a year and have just set up a new Amazon store in the UK and will be fleshing out their Amazon UK store with more flashlights in the future.

The flashlight arrived in a fairly large box , well protected from any potential trips or falls that the delivery guy may have had in his haste to deliver a man’s new toy(you know how it is, I’m sure it’s not just me that waits impatiently to get their hands on something new).

The flashlight comes with qty 2 18650 button top protected batteries, marked as 3000mah capacity, a lanyard, 2 spare o rings and a 2 bay charger.
The wrap is slightly kinked on both batteries but doesn’t affect battery insertion.

Dimensions are approximately 178mm long with a head diameter of 48.5mm.

The driver is press fit into the pill and the tail cap connection to the battery is a sprung brass pillar.

AR coated glass, a deep aluminium reflector and an Xml2 U4 make up the head of the flashlight. The Mcpb is screwed down with 2 screws with a good amount of thermal paste. The mcpb looks to be copper but I haven’t removed it to see. I will remove if anyone is interested.

The shelf which the mcpb is screwed to is quite thick with a good 4 or 5mm of meat left on to help sink and remove the heat from the emitter.
The smooth aluminium reflector is a thing of beauty. It is just shy of 58mm long, just under 43mm wide at its widest point with an inside diameter of 38mm.

Listed at 1000 lumens with 400 yards of throw, I was unable to test as it’s raining and I do not have a integrating sphere.

However, the tail cap currents using stock leads on my dmm
Sony Vtc5
Low 0.06
Medium 0.72
High 2.61

Using the supplied batteries,
Low 0.06
Med 0.73
High 2.03

Low,med, high, strobe,SOS are the included modes with a forward clicky.

In the hand, it weighs about the same as my Blf X6 triple with copper spacer so it’s built well.

In conclusion, a nice flashlight from Odepro outdoors. It is a shame that the driver isn’t easily removable for those who like to tinker but it’s good as it is.
I personally would like the flashy modes hidden but it is sold as a tactical flashlight.

Ha here is the review!
much more interesting then just a box review

Thanks, looks good.
Though the pics of the 18650 make it look like a 32650

Thanks for the review.

i would really appreciate if you could measure the driver’s diameter.

The driver diameter is 21mm which is to the outside of the copper ring.

Great thanks

uh ...It looks like a outdoor equipment ,my friend' s father is a farmer,he raises a group of black pigs in the back of the mountain, he need to cross a wetland to feed the pigs every night ,but the boskage wetted his flashlights easily and lost 3 flashlights already due to the short circuit in the past 6 months, i am looking for a flashlight has fine waterproof performance for my buddy's father, any ideas ?

Very nice review thannks.

I think many flashights could work for your friend’s father. Look for a rating IPX-8 or higher.

There are tons of nice waterproof flashlights

One is the Nitercore P12GT

Look at the big manufactors for quality flashlights
Nitecore, Olight, Fenix, Klarus, Imalent, Lumintop, Jetbeam, Skilhunt

Also some smaller companies like Convoy, Thorfire, Eagle Eye and Jaxman make nice waterproof lights

Diving lights are for sure waterproof!

Stay away from USB ports with silicone cover they often fail water tightness

WOW !Those flashlight are good ,how did you found that flashlights ? May i have your FB please ?

OK, thank you so much , i will search about them

Hown about your flashlight ?

This flashlight is IP 8 rated so should be good for his use. Many flashlights are Ip6/Ip8 rated now

I own many lights most are very well waterproof

I can say from own expirience that my
Nitecore P12
Klarus XT12GT
Klarus XT11GT
Convoy S2+
Convoy C8
Eagle Eye X6
Jetbeam Jet-1 MK
Utorch UT01
Skilhunt H03
Lights are waterproof

Eagle Eye X2R and Imalent DM21 I dont trust the USB covers they are most likely fail water tightness under rough conditions

Adding some lubricant to the threads and orings if its not on the light already improved water tightness

The question is if you want use conventional batteries or Lithium rechargable like 18650

The latest one I did a review for was not waterproof even rated IP X8 because the USB cocer is not designed good

Zoom lights have also huge issues with waterproofness
Submerged in water every zoom will fail watertightness when you change zoom if the light change its lengh because the volume increase in the light has to be filled with stuff from outside, even if it’s expensive and IPX8 rated dont trust it

Yeah ,that's right , i just searched "IP8 waterproof flashlight " in Amazon and eBay ,there too much flashlights are Ip6/Ip8 rated,i guess i left behind of the latest flashlight already .

I think Zoom lights have also huge issues with waterproofness is right, after all the flexible joints can't be sealed well, that' s really a mistake to promise IP8 waterproof rated for a zoomable flashlight .
