Low-cost copper pills, spacers, optics, drop-ins (Updated 23/10/2022))

Ok.
I will ask you to take few measures of your vg10 to specify ring dimensions.

Got my 4 Surefire Copper pills and Optics today, again Bullet Proof packaging, but one of the plastic cases was Brutalized and the contents remained inside protected and unscathed!!! Great job! Great work, thanks!!

I was lucky enough to get 2 prototype spacers recently and figured I would give a quick review.

First was the C8 spacer. Being a prototype there was a slight error in the height of the spacer but this was the machine shop error, kiriba-ru measurements were spot on what it should be and will obviously be fixed before production.

The spacer is great, VERY heavy in copper. In this case I would go with an aluminum version if it was offered myself. It puts a lot of weight in the head with copper and is just not needed unless you are trying to run 3x XP-L2’s or something.

The convoy C8 will make a great host for it but it also worked great in my cheap C8 hosts as well as long as they had a 20mm solid pill (which you can order from fast tech if yours doesn’t). I was not able to actually build a light due to not having a spare MCPCB or optic and wanting to put the one I used for testing back in the X6.

That said there are a few advantages of the C8, first it is larger, so it will have more heat shedding ability. It also has a larger head which means that the optic will not be shrouded and you should get a bit higher OTF lumens. It also gives you the ability to use cheap C8 hosts you have laying around as the base for a triple build if you desire.

The downside compared to the X6/X7 is that it is larger, duh. lol

I have an F13 spacer but have not got a host to test it in yet.

The other prototype I just got done building yesterday is the VG-10 quad spacer. There are several different versions of the VG-10 out now, I have a “V2” version.

The spacer fit perfectly, perfect size and height. The glass just compresses the optic as it should, it is nice and centered ect. It doesn’t even need a centering ring.

I built the light with a TA driver quad Tpad and 4x 219B 9080 4500k LED’s (98CRI). It is amazing!

I built it as a photo light and it is perfect for that, around 2200 lumens of the most amazing tint I have ever seen. and I have seen a lot of nice tints.

I give it :+1: :+1: on my V2 VG-10!

I am gonna need some vg10 spacers too.

But this way you need to specify your version: Low-cost copper pills, spacers, optics, drop-ins (Updated 23/10/2022)) - #721 by kiriba-ru

Will you produce spacer for version 3 ( groupbuy version) ?

Yes, I will make quad kits for all 4 versions, but in limited quantities (as many as blfers need and 1pc each else)

I will take one spacer for V3 , aluminum please . I’ll probably message (today or tomorrow) you for some other items too .

aluminum? I will think about it. It can be just $1 cheaper than Cu. Are you sure?

I was thinking about weight to be honest , but if you can’t make it in alu , i will probably buy cu .

Weight in Cu is 50gr, in Alu 17gr.

The VG-10 with a copper spacer is pretty nice weight wise, a little head heavy but nothing that you would notice unless looking for it. It needs the cooling help of the copper as well.

Now the C8 spacer on the other hand I would want aluminum for sure. It is 4x the size.

Well it turned out that I was trying to use the VG-10 brass ring upside down, flipping it over makes it work much better, go figure lol. :student:

In fact it makes the light better then it was from the factory as it now has a place for an o-ring around the glass! Thus the light would now be water-resistance / proof!

Finally got around to my f13 triple with xpl-2 v5 4k with MTN fet+7135 guppydrive.

I broke the 3000 lumen barrier. Clicked out at 3070 on turbo.

Thanks so much. The spacer was beautiful and a snug fit!

C8 spacers in stock.

Im going to produce some usefull devices for non-professional machinery workers. If you live in US, interested in such stuff, english is your mother tongue and you can record short video reviews, please contact PM and Ill send you first samples as they will be ready.

Epic fail version.
Do you have quad pcbs and matching optics?

Once again.
I dont have any tpad quads, I dont have any simple and cheap ways to get them, I dont like their design and price. If I could I would like to make other quad pcbs.
Yes I have tons of 10622 optics.

Hi Kriba Ru

I am thinking of building my first S2+ triple, and need a copper spacer
Could you give me an indication of the price including shipping to The Netherlands?
