I think I am giving up on Dino-Direct

I received today the second shipment, everything is ok, the only problem was the lack to organize themselves in a proper way.

Another offense, hilarious!!

:D .. but i know what you mean ;)

Yep, looks like a scam website. Dino cartoons my a$$!

1st order- they shipped me the wrong light, but I was able to sell it locally and not lose $$, plus DD gave me a credit

2nd order- I cancelled it after it didn't ship within 3 days and they gave me a full paypal refund

3nd order- shipped/received in 2 weeks

4th order- shipped/received in 2 weeks

5th order- taking 1+ weeks to ship so far, they gave me a $.50 credit (I assume this just happens if the item is not in stock)

6th order- placed today... hopefully it goes smooth

This place is just all about dealing with frustration to save some $$.

@ jondotcom: "This place is just all about dealing with frustration to save some $$."

Up to a point I agree, but for me it's more about ordering from whichever seller is showing what I'm looking for at the time. The whole Chinese website selling thing is a lottery anyway. You might/not get what you ordered, it may/not arrive, and it might/not be a good sample.

I'm currently waiting on this 504b silver version, not so much for the price this time, but because the black version I bought a few months ago turned out to be one of the best flashlight purchases I've made so far. If I could be sure of getting the exact same model and quality with no uncertainties, I'd gladly pay a lot more to another seller.

As long as the order arrives within 45 days I'm fine with the wait-to-save $ ratio. If I want an item fast I'll go elsewhere... I remember when Amazon was a screwed up mess and now they are a well greased merchandise delivery stable....hope DD gets their delivery problems and web site fixed some day.

Well, the waiting game is part of Dinodirect and all HK/China online store experience, with their free postage.

It's the lying and dishonesty that I will not put up with, I asked for Fedex, their email said it was sent by EMS(without informing me) so after more than a week of correspondence asking them the reason for changing it to EMS, of course they say EMS is better than Fedex....

With more scrutiny I found out that they did not use Fedex nor EMS(take note that in all my correspondence they are saying it was sent via EMS). They used regular hongkong post.

When I told them I found out they used regular mail, now they tell me hongkong post is like EMS, even better!

LOL

Still no word on my Jetbeam BC40 being shipped. I was told by Sharon that I would get a pm telling me it shipped. I was told it was supposed to ship this week. Well it's Saturday. Maybe a Chinese week is a month I don't know. But this is rediculous.

I totally agree with that. I just had pretty bad experiences dealing direct with two U.S. sellers where both informed me of shipments that never occurred. One gave me a tracking # and weeks later owned up that it never shipped, and the other said my item was lost in the mail so they sent me another.... yeah right!

At least with DD so far it's just been incompetence and not lies.

There is something about the Jetbeam BC40 that they are not telling us. My order was in on 12/14/11, but still not shipped. They are still selling this flashlight, but are they doing it with no stock at hand? If they have stock at hand why are they not shipping them, even after three weeks? I contacted them by live chat, but I get the standard answer that it will be taken care of "as soon as possible. blah blah.." I don't know why they find it so hard to be upfront and honest with their customers! If you do not have stock, just tell your customer that and give them an estimated shipping date.

Summer does the same thing over here. Promises everybody their orders will be taken care of, but when you ask a direct question expecting a simple answer there is no answer.

Yep! I agree. I think Dino Direct puts their company ahead of their customers. And that will be their own downfall eventually. You cant keep screwing your customers and expect them to keep taking it. I mean how many chances must they get before they get it? Come on! Get with the damn program DD.

I havent bothered to look, but are there any videos on these chinese distributors in operation? Maybe if we saw how they prepared everything, they may be able to buy themselves some time, according to the posts ive read, although it takes time, everyone eventually gets their order. We all know if you have a deadline, and need something fast, dont count on mail order items, put your money back into locaL businesses, or even walmart, for flashlights, maybe rei, but see how far 10 to 20 bucks will get you at those places. If you need these exotic things from exotic locations, take a chill pill and just wait a bit. id like to see some of us try to source a flashlight and ship it for 10 dollars, deal with customers who want their lights shipped asap so they can awww there friends over the weekend. I live on the west coast, i buy from cabelas(not quite east coast), and it takes them 5 to 7 business days to get me what i need, we deal with the good ole american dollar, and speak the same language. No free shipping. No oceans to cross, same freaking continent. Whether you cry about it or not, you know when the deal is on, youll be hitting that add to cart button, and checking out with coupon codes that you have googled up. Theres a reason we buy from chinese sites, and it aint the speedy delivery or stellar customer service. Make your orders and dont forget to breathe. Im going to have to follow this mantra myself, haha

Well said jaysay. Jetbeam for $40 is under cutting the opposition by $20. There are 2 options for everyone:

1) Cancel your order and but from elsewhere. There are plenty U.S dealer waiting to get your money but you choose DD because of the price.

2) Wait for DD to delivery your Jetbeam.

Please don't complain about shipping time etc. We all know that Chinese seller take between 2 weeks to 6 weeks to deliver. That's life.

Unless DD ships my P1A soon I dont think I will buy from DD again.

But...I kind of think all Chinese dollar store places are pretty much the same, so I cant go around crossing everyone off my list.

40$ light I can buy at DD for 22$, say. So its a tough call.

What are some other good stores I can book-mark and shop at instead of DD now?

Some store thats consitantly good and has a good selection of lights...is there such a thing?

ManaFont?

I know that Exduct is very good for knives, but they dont really sell lights...

Not a tough call for me. As I live in the U.K. It's easy DD every time, the PA1 would $32.95($51.07) vs DD $25.39

How the rest of us deal with Chinese dealers is, we usually have a string of endless orders, so every week we'll have 1 or 2 deliveries. LOL!

But then you'll chalk up a huge bill and get a fright when you look at your paypal statement! (happened to me before) DAMN!

Got some sipiks and a few others coming in next week, and then a p1a hopefully the week after, so many people buying the p1a from dino has got me worried. I have no personal experience with klarus, but damn they look good. should have got a couple, but the discount only applies to the 30 dollar mark. if its like a fenix then its worth its weight in gold. Thinking hard about maybe ordering another just as backup to my other backups. Shipping info is so out of whack, i wish they dont even send tracking info. Waste of time looking, just give them a month, and when u see the mail man walking up with a yellow envelope, greet him or her nonchalantly, and try to contain yourself.

Yeah jaysay, i purchased the V60C and M3X from DD during the sale + coupons. V60C was 101 bucks and M3X was 67 bucks shipped coz they they shipped the V60C out as EMS (I chose Fedex) so i was credited with a Giftcard. Best deals in my life.

Maybe I am just lucky, i wanted to order the BC40 as well originally. But seriously i like the design of the Shadow TC6 more and they have neutral white as well.

I usually throw glitter in the air and dance around.

That's the kind of activity a mailman in San Francisco would expect on a daily basis
